Hes a very passionate lad is DB. I sat next to him at the awards night, very confident guy and one of the leaders in our camp. Constantly making sure the other lads on the other tables were alright etc.
We did talk about Oxford VERY briefly, but I won't say what he told me on here. It wasn't anything newsworthy, but their team and ours have certainly stoked up a bit of a rivalry throughout this season!

It could be a bit of a fiesty one when the two teams meet next season, particularly if it's at the Kassam in the relatively early season...
Let's hope D'Ath isn't made to eat his words.

Perhaps Appleton may get to manage the best team in League 2.
Going for the Oxford manager worked out well for us last time.

He was right about one thing - this thread is pretty conclusive proof that he's cheesed off some of us.

I'm definitely not cheesed off, I find it hilarious that the moron has made a statement that makes him and his club look like a bunch of muppets, the more these fantasists get outed to the wider football community for the delusional team they are the better.

What I find frustrating, is that it was absolutely impossible for us to take points from a team above us in the league. Oxford share the same frustrations.

They even have an open top bus parade on Tuesday to celebrate.... Still can't believe the football league give out a trophy for finishing as runners up either.

Did we? I must have missed that. When was this, under Calderwood?

I think he's referring to 1997.

So Oxford are better than us are they? Let's look at the facts. 1. We won the league. By 13 points. 2. Beat them 1-0 despite having 10 men for half the game back October, whilst DC was still in charge and well before we hit our stride. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/341605663. We then repeated the trick in February at their own ground. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/355294834. Every man and his dog wants Wilder to take over at their club. Meanwhile, Appleton's phone is gathering dust!

We were celebrating promotion through the play-offs, and via a first Wembley appearance. I'd suggest that 'The best team in League 2' celebrating not-winning the league comes across as slightly tinpot -- which is about what we'd expect.
