Justice done ? Really. What about the Greyhounds and Stock cars that look like they will lose their Stadium. Let's have some " justice " for them too.

The greyhound stadium is closing down anyway and Kingstonian's chairman was about to sell their ground for retail development before AFCW came in and bought it and allowed them to continue playing there as tenants.

I can understand why the love-in might grate on people - it's because the MK fiasco made them media darlings - but disregarding the MK thing entirely, what they've achieved is extremely impressive. To lose your club in any circumstances must be gut-wrenching, especially protracted over several years of decline, exile and failed attempts to fight FA rulings (the start of this season was unpleasant enough and that was a few months' trouble with a happy ending) - so to start again from scratch, and now be back in the third tier just 12 years later, and having done it all in a sustainable way as a fan-owned club, is worth every bit of the fuss that is being made about them. So many clubs have dropped out and not made it back, so for Wimbledon to do it in the way they've done it must be a beacon of hope for the likes of Hereford, Darlo and the other clubs starting out on the long road to recovery. There are very few fanbases that deserve a day like today more than Wimbledon do.

The Greyhound Stadium was not closing down. The Stock Cars would like to stay but they can't if Wimbledon get the go ahead to throw them out.
Wimbledon did have permission to build a Stadium in Merton before the move to Molton Keynes but they deicided not too. Too many people will follow the TV companies and have a love in with them now they are in the same league as MK.

It's an even more remarkable achievement to now be in League One given their crass stupidity which you have pointed out for us.

The REAL Wimbledon deserve massive respect and credit for what the have achieved, Started a club  from nothing, going on to get to L1. Many congratulations to them. The fans started this club from nothing, to get to L1, Amazing and very well done. When they meet MK I hope they give them a damm good thrashing.

I strongly suspect that Charles Koppell was chairman of Wimbledon when they decided not to go with a new stadium in Merton. He was the one who got them properly in to bed with the whole MK project in the first place.

Wimbledon were first offered a deal to share a rebuilt Stadium on Plough Lane by the GRA in 1992. This was turned down, it was a long time before Koppell

Again, the football club may have been offered that opportunity but it doesn't mean that the wishes of the owners were aligned with the supporters.

We know ourselves from recent experience that the behaviour of an owner doesn't necessarily correlate with the supporters.

What they have achieved is incredible. I'd have rather it been Plymouth just for the away day, but that is irrelevant.

Well done the REAL DONS.

Although they will meet for the first time in a league game , which no doubt will be on live TV , they have played each other 3 times in cup games. So the edge has been taken off somewhat.

I'm glad they beat the arrogant Plymouth bunch in the final.

I was pleased to see Bayo score only from the perspective that I had AFCW to win with Bayo to score anything. His post-match antics were disappointing.

In terms of them playing MK Dons next season...the clubs may be in the same division next season but difference between them is massive.

The real Wimbledon were a toe-rag little club, with barely any fans, and who battered their way to success on the pitch. Some of their topflight games they barely mustered 3000 home fans, if they had hung around in their original format they would have crashed and burned. I fail to understand the love in.

I fail to see the love in that you and others are alluding to.

They've done an amazing job, by anyone's standards. Nothing wrong with acknowledging that.

1.They are the real Wimbledon!
2.How many fans a team has got nothing to do with it.
3."battered their way to success"   yes, they used the approach they were capable of. Work to your strengths, nothing wrong with that.
4.3000 fans... so what?
5. OK mystic meg, you might be right with your "crashed and burned" comment but we will never know.
6.Not a love in, as the hamster muncher pointed out there is nothing wrong with acknowledging their over achievement in getting promoted. Fear not, when they play us next season I hope we grab them by the...

The point is is that AFC have got to L1 on merit anything else about their past is irrelevant. All this moral posturing is a bit OTT!
Moral posturing? Bit rich when the prat above goes on about 'bleating' 'justice done'...still bleating about MK! BoN...you are a prime...
