I've always said I'd prefer a Cobblers promotion to an England world cup or Euros win so I've had my fill for the year. I used to be more interested but that has faded over the years along with the amount of premier league football I watch on TV. I caught a bit of one of the England friendlies the other day and actually didn't know who a couple of the players were!

Because it is at the very least a diversion. I can happily sit with football on tv in the background each night, for a few days. It's better than the usual drivel served up.
I actually find all the false nationalistic pride drummed up whenever these tournaments are on a tad embarrassing.

Hands up who thought one goal was going to be enough to win it.

I thought we'd hang on.

The substitutions were truly shocking though. Rooney who I don't rate but was having a good game, replaced by someone who isn't even slightly match fit and whom I don't recall touching the ball, then bringing Milner on for the only player who was offering us pace on the counter attack? Sat way too deep, especially considering how weak our defence is.

We were crying out for Jamie Vardy, and how Lallana lasted the full 90 is beyond me.

Thought Lallana did well. Wasn't against Wilshere coming on...but yes Vardy or Rashford should have been brought on. Also, as said on tv, Kane should be in the mix for corners...not taking them!

Agree with all of that Coolcat. To have Kane taking corners is absolute madness.

Yes, frustratingly annoying that he's (possibly) getting it wrong when it counts!

Absolutely... Up to the substitution I thought we looked ok. But it was the wrong decision totally to not bring on some further pace, to keep them pegged back. We've got to play a side on Thursday that are ranked 3 places higher than a side we couldn't finish off yesterday. Putting aside everything, Wales will come into that game now, on a high, knowing we are there for the taking.

Yep and UEFA, being the normal idiots..lets ban England and Russia if it happens gain...did they ever learn about body searches, segregation etc..
With all due respect, it would appear that that the French aint learnt from recent incidents...Obviously not capable of running a high profile tournament.
So with the next World Cup's in Russia and Qatar, who the hell would feel safe attending..
I've worked in both countries, and no way would I go to either to follow England... Russia violence, Qatar, alcohol laws..Should give it to China, would be the best ever World Cup, safe and fun.

FIFA/UEFA..all run by fools..FA following suit with the new JP comp..

Rant over..

Sorry but why is no alcohol in Qatar a bad thing? Surely this would tone down some of the violence we've seen.
