Read a book? Watch a film? Wank furiously for 90 minutes? The possibilities are endless.

I usually attend this competition, I intend to miss it this season. In a strange sort of way I am hoping for two U21 sides to reach the final. You would expect Chelsea U21 to be better than most of the L1 and L2 sides. That would be the end of the trophy then.

It would be interesting to hear what our chairman (and other Chairmen in general) think of it. Apparently the majority all voted in favour of the new format, so it must provide some sort of benefit.

Whats the answer then? Scrap it??

I'm not sure whether its the FA/FL who are devaluing it.......most clubs, including ourselves, normally put out weakened sides and have done for a good few years.

Then we go to the League Cup........most of the bigger sides normally put out weakened sides.......what about the FA Cup? Most of the big clubs put out weakened sides....... and how about the Premier League?......some of the big clubs are putting out weakened sides before or after big European games.

Scrap them all, scrap all competitions, because it is the clubs who devalue them!

If I rember KT voted for it?

He did.

I think most clubs agree the trophy was dying and something had to change

This concept could give clubs a cash boost, as they don't take their usual % of the gate, plus other incentives I think I read, for accommodating the academy sides.

They probably voted 'for' it when they thought there was a chance of getting Arsenal U23. Not filler like Reading.

The team playing will be a West Ham United U23 XI so that's the only way they can market it. Though, if people think they'll be seeing Payet then I'll frankly be quite surprised if they manage to find the stadium
Speaking of...will it be Payet the turnstiles for the West Ham Under 5s game?  Cool

If Jaqueline Jossa is back in Eastenders, he could probably watch and do the third suggestion at the same time!  Wink

I can understand his view even if I do not agree with it. This competition will last one season and be scrapped. The attendances will be absolutely appalling.

Cheers for this Matt - I hadn't seen it before. It seems to me that KT is edging towards scrapping the competition but is prepared to try a few things first to see if they work. Can't really argue with that.
