As much as I would like to visit Oakwell (never been), I shan't do anything that gives credence to the Thin-end-of-the-Wedge Cup. If you support it, it will be seen as a green light for B teams in the lower leagues.

This is the league cup - it just hasn't got a sponsor anymore. This has nothing to do with B teams.

Went to Barnsley the last time we played them ( a New Year's Day fixture I think).
Seems strange to want to boycott the league cup, whatever for. We have had some good nights in the this cup.

Are you not confusing the EFL Cup (League Cup) with the Football League Trophy (Johnstone Paint Trophy? The EFL Cup is only open to the football league. The FLT is going to include premier league youth teams. Simple really

My only time to Oakwell was then too! In Hull for NYE, pissed down with rain in Yorkshire but game on, with half a dozen Scarborough fans in our end. Will make my second trip!

That might make sense for the likes of Birmingham and Wolves, but Posh, Coventry and Walsall are in the same division we are as well as further north yet they're somehow in the South section?

In simple terms 35 seeded teams 35 unseeded teams. There are more Northern teams in the seeded section, and there are a higher number of teams in the Southern teams in the unseeded section. So when they are split North /South it creates an uneven looking balance. Having Villa Posh etc in the Soutern Section for seeded teams has no bearing at all on the Cobblers being in the Northern Section of unseeded teams. Not that hard is it ?

It's not hard to understand BUT it is a but stupid, why bother with seeding ? Apart from 3 or 4 teams, there are no glamour ties, no disrespect, but I doubt if there were many Cobblers fans were thinking "great draw, nice to go to a big team" when we drew Barnsley.

Very true, seeding in the first round is a bit silly. Barnsley is not a great draw, but clubs like Blackburn, Bolton or PNE would have been.
