I followed up the Hoskins rumour, I have a friend who is friends with his family (I lived in Rotherham for a long time!) and apparently he's been talking to a few clubs in league 2 one of which were just outside the play offs this year.

Why the excitement about Hoskins, anyway. He was briefly successful at a lower level and then failed when he tried to move up the leagues. There's plenty of players like that about - Scott Vernon, Izale McLeod, Trevor Benjamin anyone...?!

Remember Scott Vernon's chance at Brizzle literally right in front of the goal where he headed it straight into the keepers hands?

Would anyone take him back?

I heard yesterday that Francis Jeffers may be in talks.

Surely he must be half decent at division 4 level?

He is terribly injury prone though - prob has a worse injury rate than Bayo on a bad season.

According to Cardoza's interview on the official site, we're looking for a squad of 20 to 22 and Sammo has some quite exciting targets...

Make of that what you will...

Suggests quite a few players could be coming in - not sure who it was but it was mentioned we will probably have 1 or 2 loan players - I imagine within this total

9 Goals since Jan in a struggling team. Not a bad record, but wasn't he being chased by L1 clubs?

I don't know and I also dont know how much the paper are speculating, Sammo is quotes as saying that he has long list of players a nd he could well be on it.

He also confirmed that he is staying in touch with John Johnson as ideally he would like him back + 2 centre forwards and a centre back.

JJ back would be fantastic news. I thought we would miss Jason Crowe big time when he left but Johnson was every bit as good.

I guess it will depend on Middlesborough  - but if he is put out to loan I am sure we will get first refusal based on Crosbies contacts there.

I would have JJ back in a heartbeat, but it's unfair to compare him with Jason Crowe. I would suggest Crowe is the best player we have had for at least 5 years

JJ would be a great season long loan signing, I would also like Jason Steele back in goal but with Dunny now being fit I wonder if Sammo will just sign a keeper as cover for him

I don't think he will get a loan goalie unless Dunn gets injured again and just risk walker on the bench.

Walker's a professional now; I don't see any reason why he shouldn't be on the bench. He's looked quite good from what those have said that have seen him.
