In fact the perfect riposte to the ND-M's particularly all those who thru' toys out of the pram after last Saturday; some of whom should have known better. Great game and very impressed with McCourt, he is here to stay. Taylor more in it - and had one great chance which went very close to the far post. Cobblers backed up by their admirable defence with Smith making two tremendous 2nd half saves played calmly and well. Beautyman bit light weight but he had one superb snap volley but their keeper mad a great save.JJOT played well and was unjustly booked. Was frightened to death he would get another yellow. Revell's equalizer was great follow up from a rebound. Natanga(?) played well better than Zac imo. Both Potter and Hoskins made a difference when they came on. From Potters surging run resulted in the equalizer. Gorre lot better did a lot of covering and nearly scored. Took his penalty well calm and collected; straight as an arrow the ball went to the right hand corner of the net...goalie nowhere. In fact WBA looked a beaten side in the second half of extra time and Cobblers deservedly winners.

ps great support from the Crowd who clapped/cheered at the right moment.

This game really showed the difference in the player/fan bond and the effect on the game and the players cofindence. WBA fans sarcastically singing "If Lambert scores, we're on the pitch" Also getting on Saidos back all game and after the pen miss, mot cheering when Fletcher scored his pen, about 100 fans walking out to get a half time beer when we scored after 35 mins. Contrast thst with our fans not getting on Kenjis case when he has struggled early season, singing the JJOT song after he missed his pen, and getting behind Adam Smith after he let a soft goal in. Lets not go back to the  negative bad old days, we still have something special here, who knows where it could take us.

Well just back home after M1 amd M25 lane closures but what a performance. Everyone played pretty well but special mention to Maloney. Worked his socks off but was a constant threat down the wing and gave us a different dimension. Resolute defending again but far more inventive going forward. JJOT with a great turn at one point leaving two of their players for dead. MCcourt also played really well and the the best performance so far for Taylor. Gorre came into the came and showed some real nerve to put away the penalty. Actually looking forward to Saturday now and lets hope we reap our reward in the draw tomorrow.

Terrific night, great to see brendan back, McCourt did well as did Nyatanga, Hoskins and Potter had an impact when they came on, love the way Revell chases everything and the way he brought the ball down and played in Taylor through the middle was class. Play with that enegy in L1 and we'll turn these draws into 3pts soon. Hats off to Gorre too, unlucky not to score in ET and kept cool for the winning pen, nice celebration too.

We beat West Ham at Sixfields - it was 2 legged in those days though so with the 2nd leg to go it wasn't quite as exciting on the night!

A truly fantastic performance from everyone, I missed 3/4 of the game on the radio, due to computer problems but got it sorted for the last part of extra time and pens. Very well done to ALL of you, The fans at the game made a hell of a lot of noise, well done, You did play your part very well, how I wish I could have been there!

The 3 in the middle of park helped us win more loose balls, provided the defence with more screening and most importantly allowed Buchanan and the fantastic Moloney to push forwards and get dangerous crosses in as well some smart interplay with our wingers. Forgive me for mentioning his name, but last night's set up was almost a carbon copy of Wilder's winning formula from last season.

This. Or 4-1-4-1 as we might call it, with Mcourt protecting the back four and O'Toole and Taylor slightly further forward. I think/hope that Page might have stumbled upon a successful system.

I hope he sticks with it and uses Hooper as an impact sub rather than a starter.
