I've given him some crap on here (like a lot of people have) but I will say one thing. He looked so unbelievably happy at the end of last nights game. It clearly meant a lot to him (his goal).
Id carry on using him as an impact player for now for a few games and see what occurs.

+1 Unlike some, i i never doubted his commitment or attitude. I think when he appears lazy and doesnt track back, its due to positional naivity rather than laziness, sometimes he just looks a little lost when defending. I hope this is a stepping stone to better performances and i agree he should be used as an impact sub for the time being. It will be hard for Rob justify bringing him back in just yet anyway.

Checking back in after a week away.
Good to see Kenji get his goal last night.
Also... first half on Saturday against Southend... we missed him getting us up the pitch.
Horses for courses - if he can be more effective off the bench then great. Either way, as was my original point.. lets all get behind the lad.

Totally agree with this. The way we are playing at the minute would suggest it will be hard for him to get back into the starting line up whilst we are winning, but if he keeps putting in big performances from the bench then he will get his chance again.

I would hardly call his goal a tap in, there was no power on it but it was placed passed the keeper.

When you see Kenji's explosion of joy after his goal, like Revell's tears after his equaliser on Wednesday, it's clear that the beautiful game matters to these guys. Great to see.

After years of boredom, despair, resignation and misery, this is unbound joy.

As with a lot I did, and still do. I'm pleased he scored and I hope he does prove people like me wrong. Its correct that he was dropped as he wasnt playing well enough to warrant a starting position and now he has to work hard in training to get it back. Exactly as it should be. If he can do that then I will be happy for him. If he cant that he will go back in January.

Did you see his interview after the game? He came across really well, not an arrogant individual at all. You could tell he was over the moon with his goal happy to have helped boost the team When asked about being in the starting eleven next game, he said as long as he keeps developing, learning to play league football, and having an impact either from the bench or from starting, then he is happy. He admitted that mens/league football is a different challenge to what he has done before. He knows the score, he knows he was not good enough in his early performances. I get the impression he is working hard to rectify that. Other team members have said as much in their interviews. Time for some to give him a break i think.

I'm sure he's a great guy, never judged his character, just his ability! He wasnt good enough to be in the starting 11, he's been dropped, if he makes his way back in then i'll be happy for him. Simple

I said: i never doubted his character or attitiude You said:As with a lot I did, and still do then you said: '(I)never judged his character, just his ability!' that seems like a contradiction to me. Character and attitude does not equal ability

You actually said "Unlike some, i i never doubted his commitment or attitude" Big difference. His character will help with the team harmony in the dressing room. His commitment was (in my opinion) hindering the team both in attack and defence

okay, understood. My initial use of the word commitment was meant to mean his willingness to try, to learn, the fact that he wants to be here, help the team and develop. I didnt mean commitment on the pitch i.e commitment to make a challenge, or commitment to beat a man. That kind of commitment, does come under the banner of 'ability', i agree

Really? Beautyman does seem to have knack of poaching a goal (which I'll take), but he completely vanished after half time and it was no surprise when he was subbed. I'd still question if it's a stamina/fitness issue with him. I prefer McCourt at the mo. As for Gorre "terrorising" - he could hardly miss his chance that was set up by good work by JJOT, JJ and Revell. You didn't see his other efforts which tend to suggest he can't kick a ball more than 20 yards! I also thought he left Buchs a little exposed as he has a habit of following the ball rather than covering his man (our former Darnell Furlong).
I reckon you've made your mind up on the two of them and that's it. Even if they single (double) handedly see off Pish with hat tricks apiece I think you will find fault.

He reminds me of John Barnes. Kennys going to score a goal for us like the one Barnes did against Brazil.

I'm confused by the Gorre situation. He came in, it didn't work but Page rather stubbornly left him in the firing line. Then he started to show glimpses of the player he just might be and looked like he might be a good signing after all, before Page says he needs a break. Fair enough. He now can't seem to get a look in with the s***ty Hooper taking up that berth. Is it just me?
