I have always championed De'ath but what amuses me is that most people rubbished him last season and now think he is our saviour!

Ermm he didn't? He said with 2 permanent strikers.

I don't think that's the point here though...

In my opinion D'ath didn't do anything last season, was fortunate to get a new contract and isn't good enough for league 1 this season. I would try and move him on if it were my squad.

We need to remember that we were pretty awful at the beginning of last season too, i remember after 6 games we had lost 3 of them and if it wasn't for Smith they would have been heavy defeats as well. We do need a new winger and a new striker but i'm confident KT and RP have this in hand. Let's give it another 6 games and where we're at then....

New League, New Manager, New Players , New System.

We were spoilt last year.

Please look at the bigger picture and give it some time to bed in.
Was it not you, who wanted Wilder sacked after about 5 games last season?!!

i agree with this - i haven't really rated him as a player before now, and don't think he is going to save the day for us.

maybe he has read all the OTT praise on here and believes his own press instead of working hard for a place in the team.

Unfortunately this time around we don't have our best player to come back into the team. I agree with this in parts though and yes RP should be given time no doubt about that.

I can't remember a time I felt this low. I'd rather be winning in the conference or even the national leagues that the current drab malaise
Ladies and Gentleman here is the prize winner for the most ridiculous post of the season so far.

Keeping the unbeaten run going is great, the style has been drab, the games mainly uninspiring. There is hope that it is a work in progress but also a concern that this is what we have to expect.
We seem to lack energy and the loss of Adams is concerning, imagine the joy Revell would have with him banging the crosses in for him. Gorre seems ok in flashes but very brief ones, is this his limit or will he improve over time (I am hoping the latter) D'ath would be a good adition at the moment to increase the pace of play and pressure but I'm not sure that fits with how Page wants to play.

Only time will tell how this season will pan out.

Agree with this part of your post; am at a lost to understand why so many on don't remember the first few weeks of last season!

Well the thread provoked some comments - most (unlike the originator) talking sense -  Page clearly knows he has not got it right yet with players, formation and tactics but he is also right to say a number of players let us down on Saturday - I can forgive players that are not very good, players who are doing their best out of position and players who are not 100% fit but I struggle with players who don't put in an honest shift - and that I think was Page's point.

Molony seeme to be fit again and was one of our best players last season (and IMHO one of the best players at the club). Surely a better option than Phillips, so why isn't he starting?

I thought Phillips was woeful pre season but think he is improving every game - I wouldn't tamper with the back 4 at this stage (although I agree Maloney does offer an interesting option)
