Re: The red card. Did the rules not change so that in situations like today a penalty and a yellow card should be given, otherwise the defending team is punished twice with a pen and a red card. It came into effect this season in the Prem...maybe not the FL?

No, in a word. If you make a genuine attempt to play the ball only a yellow card is given. The player today made no attempt to play the ball - just the man. Hence, why he was given a red. Hope this explains. |
