I have said this before to people, you should watch Anglia News for reports on us. Look East is a programme that is essentially and obviously for the East of Anglia (Norwich, Ipswich, Colchester etc). The localised part is only the start bit with the presenter on her own until they go back to the other two in Norwich. For example, the story about the money supposedly being spent on Spurs tickets was in that part of the programme. Anglia News is split into East of Anglia (Norwich, Ipswich Colchester etc) on the ITV HD channel 178, whereas the West of the Anglia region (Us, Peterborough, MK) is on normal ITV channel 3, meaning it is much more local news and where we are often talked frequently. The only annoying thing I find about there local sports preview is they will often use repeat footage of a pre-season game.  Sorry to be a bore.  Hope that helps.

Spot on about tonight's coverage in particular there was a section on Ipswich's 0-0 draw with Brighton (Best of the action? There was no action so drop the clip!) then there was a preview of Newcastle v Norwich (no action obviously) then 1 goal from Southend v Oxford and 1 goal from Cambridge v Yeovil ...... teams from the eastern part of the Look East region, and then no mention whatsoever about us, Petrborough, MK Dons, Luton, Colchester or Stevenage .... it was like we'd gone back to 1970 and Look East was a quiet parochial operation focusing on farming issues. I think I'm going to ring and make an official complaint!

I thought I was the only one who think Look East is just another "Look Norwich City".

I pay a TV Licence too, so where is the footage/news regarding the Cobblers!!

Maybe we should ask fans of P'boro, Luton etc, to send a joint message to the BBC, about our displeasure??

(MK dons is not a real club, and should not be broadcast anywhere (unless they lose and we want a laugh!!))

We actually used to get more coverage when we perennial strugglers at the foot of league two / Division 3 in the 90s.

I remember that mincer Kim Riley on Look East. Is he still around?

They're always been biased towards Norwich and those webbed feet carrot crunchers.

I sent an e-mail last season when I think Chris Wilder & Ricky Holmes got manager & player of the month awards the same day. But there was not a mention about it on Look East.

I was so annoyed, but did I get a reply - of course I didn't.

They did keep banging on about the lost Council money though and police investigations, reporters outside and everything.

ITV's Anglia News is also just as bad! Dopey Donny really is...well, dopey! He always makes a hash of the Sports News. Just watch him. And he only works about 10 minutes a day!!!! This Monday just gone there was absolutely no coverage at all of the weekend games, instead Donny said to go to the website to get the sports news. In that case why not put the whole s***e half hour programme on the website!!!!!

 Grin

I was reading every post thinking the exact same. The goals are normally on the sky sports website within hours of the match, and about 2 or 3 minutes of youtube highlights the following morning.

I am so fed up with the BBC, I've complained, with the following...

YOUR COMPLAINT:

Complaint Summary: No coverage of local football team(s)

Full Complaint: On BBC Look East we had no news articles about the football teams in the West of the region, that they are supposed to represent. No news about Northampton, Peterborough or even Luton. However we always get nonsense about Norwich city, in a somewhat biased sports news. Either they do all teams, or not bother. It has been noticed in fans websites e.g. http://www.smfserver.com/forums/thehotelend/index.php?PHPSESSID=5vn6p5r73cel6kou9p7pau4oo7&topic=15189.0 and we would like a valid response as to why we do not get proper coverage?. I will be posting your response on the websites of all fans of the above teams, with your reply and hope you amend your broadcasting criteria to comply.. A very fed up licence fee payer.

----------

Thank you again for contacting us,

BBC Complaints Team

If I get a reply, I'll post it here, if not, I'm going to take it further, until they cave in!!

My point is they are happy to report on the negative off field issues, but are not interested in the on field football issues.

An equal balance would be nice.

I've called it'Look Norfolk' for years.

There's quite a bit of underlying animosity to Look East  in these parts which manifested itself one time in the 1980's at Finedon Carnival. A reporter of theirs (can't remember name, curly hair, round glasses, the 'roving reporter')  was in the parade as a 'celebrity' sitting like a twat in the on the back of a small trailer being towed by a car. When he passed  my mates and I spontaniously started booing and shouting  'Did you get lost on your way from Norwich, sod of back to Norfolk and the like.  We were surprised at out mutual dislike of Look East and took great delight in having a surprise chance to express it.  Evil Grin
