We showed the kind of spirit after going behind that wins you games more often than not at this level, and admittedly the football was not great but we dug in and got a point. For what it's worth, I thought we were the better side overall on the balance of play and deserved all three points.

From my vantage point, the atmosphere was good, admittedly not brilliant but we made a decent bit of noise (even when we went 1-0 down, ) and did our bit getting behind the players. As i've said before  it's all well and good moaning about the atmosphere, but generally I find the people who complain about the lack of noise are the same ones who keep telling you to sit down and spend all game sat there with their arms crossed, occasionally opening their mouths to moan about Gorre and hurl abuse at match officials, opposing players or whoever else will listen.

I don't see how you can have anything other than a positive mindset after today's game: a good, hard-fought point in front of the decent League one attendance and a bit of a sing-song and a chance to point and laugh at those Irons chavs to boot. There's just no pleasing some people.
I agree with pretty much everything here.
The only downside was how much of a dump Scunny as a town is.
A few decent pubs wouldn't have gone amiss

I think Lanakings comment " in front of the decent League one attendance" is a bit over the top. A decent L1 gate would be 7 to 9k.

Just watched the highlights again. If you pause the footage at 1:51 and focus on the young chap in the 3rd kit in the center of the picture then press play, have a look directly behind him  Grin We have all done that I'm sure  Wink

Just watched the highlights. Feel for Matt Taylor, he knew he did wrong but immediately made amends rather than tried to justify his mistake.

I'm in the grey hoody running down the steps at the goal. Just an outlet of sheer relief, joy and emotion especially the third time lucky strike of the goal.
Oh and by the way it's a well known fact that the camera adds about a stone and half  Grin

The blokes shinpad came off- Red card all the way.
Sounded like we played well, I hope we aren't saving our best stuff for the away games.

We can argue til we're blue in the face...
But a shinpad coming off does not constitute a red card does it? If anything it proves that Taylor's foot wasn't high.
The tackle on Moloney wasn't very clever either but of course home player = yellow

I thought the tackle on Maloney was worse than the one by Taylor

At least Taylor and their guy who fouled Zander were going for the ball, the bloke who took out Moloney was nowhere near the ball, his only intension was to take out the man. So I agree with Grove.

So the fact Taylor managed to remove the guys shinpad is proof that he didn't go in high or dangerously, that he played the ball not his leg, and that he was nowhere close to breaking his ankle?
Wow. Pattcobb, with you in our side we are never going to lose again!

I agree. It's just one-eyed impartiality from amateur referee supporters I think.

I went on Saturday and I have to say I was very impressed with how we played during the whole of the game. They started quicker than us and created a few chances but apart from the first 10-15 minutes, I felt we were very comfortable.

The 'harsh' sending off seemed to galvanise the lads and we dug deep, knocked it about and scored a very deserved equaliser. If lady luck was on our side we would have came away with three points, thinking back to missed chances by Hooper and O'Toole's 2 yard header which he sent flying over the bar in a empty net.

The fans who travelled were fantastic and well behind the team. I've had a look on Sc***horpe forums and many of them were very complimentary to how we set up and played.

Great result baring in mind we had to play 30 mins + with 10 men and away, against top of the league ... I'll take that

Me too. On the highlights it's quite clear that he looked to take out the man as violently as possible and made no attempt to play the ball. That is  premeditated violence, but apparently not worthy of a red card.

I don't think we would have won an appeal given that there has to be a clear error of judgement on the referee's part.

Big opportunity for someone like Joel Byrom to step up.
