Please apply the same logic to Anderson then evers.

The Chroney gave him an 8

"Paul Anderson - Stunning strike got Cobblers up and running and that set the tone. Involved in plenty of Northampton’s good play... 8"

I think you are right  in this instance

Talk about pi$$ing on our parade, score 6 goals in a match then find out that nearly every other club in Britain has scored 6 or more this weekend as well...

Will there be a representation from here going to the Brackley replay to show support against the Gills?

I think the answer regarding jj Hooper probably falls somewhere between the 2 camps - when I was having a chat with the guy next to me on Saturday we agreed that there is a decent player in there somewhere  but he seems to have confidence issues. He very rarely seems to trust his pace to take on his man but when he does he looks dangerous. Having said that the left side of attack still needs upgrading in the window and I also think that we could do with a decent tackler in the centre of midfield who has a bit of pace - much as I like McCourt and o'toole neither of them is particularly dynamic.

Hooper is what he is....and in my opinion its that he's not very good!! The tone was set in the first five minutes on Saturday when he twice got muscled off the ball by some part-time footballer.
Yes, he does seem to have confidence issues, and when he's on his game he looks half decent (as at Shrewsbury), but when he's not (as at Borough and for most of Saturday) he looks poor. On Saturday many around me were sarcastically applauding anything he did remotely good, and laughing at most of what he did as in the main it was bad! Even the "goal" at the end he did his best to miss!
I'll give you that he is being played out of position, but I've seen nothing to suggest he could actually cut it as a centre forward in this division, lack of physical strength lets him down badly.
Page has to save face....his comments about the "new Hooper", the "goalscoring forward" etc etc mean he is never going to tell it like it is, and what it is is that Hooper was a panic deadline signing just so we had a player on the books.

How many on here would say we should make a move in January to sign him permanently?

Must admit bit disappointed with yr teams display today ; was expecting a bit more from Harrow Boro. But for your goalie could have been double figures. You had some neat passing in midfield particularly 1st half but you never really troubled us today. What was noticeable was that the team kept going to the end as did most of your supporters.

Sorry to disappoint, I think the two early goals didnt help! Oh and it probably didnt help that our top scorer didnt start, but no blame on our manager, all three of our strikers have been scoring goals of late and perhaps this will help us keep him for a bit longer as the scouts didnt get a great look at him! Wink

Big thanks to all the tips and helpful info from you guys on here. It helped make 371 harrow fans (Our biggest ever away attendance) go home with heads held high. Okay the result could have been better but you were pretty clinical in front of goal and defending has never been our forte. I thought we played some okay football and were the better team for the opening 5 minutes!  Grin Grin

It was a shame you scored so early for us but none of our fans really had expectations of winning. Getting to the 1st round is the ultimate goal for us really. Credit to your players, stewards and fans! Was thoroughly impressed with a bunch of you staying behind to clap off the Harrow boys too. Best of luck in the league and cup!

I agree entirely mate - jj Hooper is never going to a prolific scorer or a winger that provides regular assists, he just falls between 2 stools. On Saturday it was crying out for gorre to be given 25/30 minutes on the back of a hat trick for the reserves but for some reason - probably that gorre is going to get 90 minutes in a meaningless checkatrade match - page left it as it was. I hope that page doesn't dig his heals in and sign Hooper in January, we need an out and out attacking midfielder to interchange with Hoskins and Anderson like we did last year.

Not many and at the moment would hesitate to offer a contract. If only he could dish up at a home game similar performances to those of the last two away games!
At the moment I cannot bring myself to agree with the criticism thrown his way! Perhaps a decent performance on Saturday incl 2 assists and a goal might help Roll Eyes
