After last night loss to Bolton it's five losses in a row for Bury. They have had the better results between us over the years and I am sure some of you remember the 7-1 mauling during the 1981/1982 season.

Yes, and then beat them 4-0 the following season I think

Our next 2 league opponents (Bury and Gillingham) are both on bad runs, and include Shrewsbury in to that, hopefully these fixtures are coming at the right time.

We're up and down right now and we haven't beaten Bury in 6 games..

I'm already getting a horrible feeling here.

On the plus side I do have a ton of ironing to do Saturday.

Bury seemed the far better team for much of last night, despite the spin from one of the 'experts' defending Bolton's rather pedestrian, defensive and dull style of play. Fortunately (for Wanderers and us I believe) Bury wilted after the 2nd pen...Bolton finishing the stronger.

Wasn't the 4-0 the first game of the season? Bury and Northampton lads used to get on well together for a few seasons, following 'that' game at Shrewsbury in 93, where us winning put them into the playoffs and not the Shrews. Met them at pubs at Bury Interchange and Sixfields for two or three seasons.

I remember the Tuesday night game when they hammered us 5-0.I believe Alan Knill was centre half for Bury that night, possibly captain.

Really looking forward to this game having had to miss last week. Will the people who bought Manchester United bundles still be with us or have there packages come to an end?

Interestingly, we are averaging an attendance of 6,027 after 7 league games so far this season.

This is the biggest since 1998-99 (6,073) and if continued, would only be the 4th season (other than 1998-1999, 1997-1998 and 1986-87) that we've averaged over 6,000 since 1976.

Further proof we need a 15,000 seater stadium, the current capacity of 8000 isnt enough to hold 6000 fans!

Unfortunately I cant make this game as away for the weekend but hopefully we can back up last week with another win. Time to get a bit of a run going and put a bigger gap between us and the bottom half of the league. (my focus is still on getting to 50+ points and then anything further is a bonus)

Oh what memories. Down the pub in Sywell as a 15 year old, packet of crisps and a lemon an' lime, game of skittles, read the Green Un to see what different opinion they had of the game we had just watched at the County Ground. Plus, we hardly ever lost in them early sixties.  Grin

I realise this is meant to be ironic, however, we will have a few sellout games this season that would boost our average further if we had 3000 seats for away fans.....not that I think we should do this just yet.

I don't think that the club has been higher than 9th in League 1 since 1999 either.
