I think the stand should have a large board  above it with Dave Bowen's name at the top. It truly was a fantastic thing that he did getting this club to the FIRST DIVISION and just calling it the Dave Bowen stand is not enough. What do others think?, you never know we might start something here.

I'd perhaps save this idea for if (if?) the stand ever gets rebuilt into something impressive. It's a wee bit tinpot at the minute.

It's a good idea but I'd agree with Jolly that it needs to be added after any stand improvement.

I also want to see SIXFIELDS in big letters positioned in to the side of the hill behind ala the HOLLYWOOD sign.

KT could rename the West the Dave Bowen stand if the sentiment is there. It's slightly less tin pot than the erm... Dave Bowen stand.

Are you up for some guerilla gardening? You could plant NTFC in Daffodils or tulips on the slopes behind the north stand

I think someone should just take this city of Peterborough and just... just flush it down the f***in' toilet

It's a good idea, but, as suggested leave it until the Stand has been developed into something more worthy of his name.

Thank you all for your opinions,  I must say that I agree on the state of the stand, I don't suppose it would be good enough for his name with the state it's in, but if It is ever rebuilt, now that would be another story. It truly was a fantastic ting he did for the club, as The late great Joe Mercer said, ''the miracle of 1966 was not England winning the world cup, but little Northampton town reaching the First division!''

The west stand should be named the Brian Lomax stand, IMO.

Sure I heard that the idea was to name the fans village after him. Could be wrong though

It would be very fitting to name the stand after Dave Bowen, the finest manager we ever had.

Isn't the North Stand officially named the Dave Bowen Stand?
Way back when the ground opened the stands should have been named, it would have stuck through time.
Plus I think Bowen Stand would be better, too many syllables!

Yeah it is, this is why this whole topic has confused me.

Defender was saying it would be nice to have the words DAVE BOWEN STAND for all to read on the stand itself. Not really so confusing is it?

Being a reborn Newbie I didn't realise the North stand had already been named the Dave Bowen Stand. An easy mistake to make because I have only ever heard it referred to as the North Stand and the grassy ridge behind it as Jimmy Hill. Perhaps it would be apt to put a sign on the Dave Bowen Stand, with wording something like "Dave Bowen Stand"?
And whilst I am trying to get my facts straight, I remember the Hotel End at the County Ground but where exactly is the Hotel End at sixfields? My guess is that it is at the south end of the West Stand because this is where most of the volume for the songs and chants seem to come from.
