Yes, the ball got stuck under his feet and he flicked it away from goal the best he could.
So ...why did you not mention his disastrous efforts to clear? quote from the Chron "Lewin Nyatanga revealed it was an ‘angry’ Cobblers dressing room after Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Gillingham" - would not like to have been in your hero's shoes after the game..

Having recovered from a big sulk after that result imo a draw would have been ok. On the balance of play we merited a point. We do have some strange opinions on here after the game. Two come to mind : 1) Gillingham had two players who made the difference and 2) somebody suggesting that they were the better side. Gillingham won simply because of a catastrophic error in defence plus our failure to score on two decent opportunities. Smith was largely untroubled and Bucks and Maloney played ok. Nyatanga was class and Diamond ok'ish. No longer certain ref Diamond as he maybe weak link. Taylor a bit in and out of game JJOT played ok but missed a good opportunity. We def missed McC. Rico ineffective and Page quite right to sub him. Hooper had a poor game only showed glimpses what he can do. Expect we will not sign him in Jan? Hoskins played to deep and needs to learn when to pass and go for return, but his speed does unsettle defences. Perhaps he needs somebody to play off. Otherwise he runs into dead ends. Anderson well was Anderson did some good things but made that disastrous mistake which decided the outcome. We appear to be short of a decent and reliable center back, a winger and a goal scorer ; not easy to find! Is RH happy at Charlton? : Yes, I suggested that Gillingham were the better side and I didn't really blow my top when they scored at the end because it was highly expected. Their passing and movement was far better, they just lacked an effective finisher (McDonald of old for instance) otherwise it would have been all over far earlier. The only time we looked threatening was the last 15 minutes of the first half.

Agreed. Gillingham were the better side due to their superior attacking midfielders. I don't know what game you were watching everbrite but the stats tell their own story: 53% to 47% possession, 15 to 10 shots, 8 to 3 corners.

On a brighter note, the 637 who travelled to Kent, made up what I believe to be our highest visiting support to Gillingham...certainly since I first visited back in 85. Unlikely to have ever taken more prior to that.

Early season 76/77 at Gillingham, definitely took more than that. Great day out maybe others will remember Walley (Can't remember his surname for the life of me) shouting to catch our attention during the game from an upstairs front bedroom bay window of a terraced house across from the away end after having his way with a local girl. He could see about a third of the pitch so didn't bother coming over. We travelled in very good numbers for about three seasons from 75/76.

So ...why did you not mention his disastrous efforts to clear? Because I knew you certainly would, and more than the once if you got the chance. I was right. It's all in a word though isn't it? If it had been Bayo in his playing days for us you would have said "Bayo well was Bayo did some good things but made that unlucky mistake which unfortunately decided the outcome". I am sure having said the above that if he scores the winner against Posh this Saturday that you will be the first to sing his praises won't you?

The chron reports from now on cannot be relied on, Anderson played a couple of sublime passes , one of which should have resulted in a goal but Hoskins slipped, ....... Henegan admitted on Twitter he didnt see either.

Generally Hennegans reports are quite accurate it's a pity of course that he is at odds with two correspondents on here . His Gillingham report was ok with veiled criticisms of team and manager. Must admit I missed Hoskins slip 'fort his control let him down.

"I served up a report" , No. I made an observation, Yes. I am not sure what the lad has done to you for you to be quite so damming of him. Knocked you down? Stepped on your face? Slandered your name all over the place? Trod on your rather dapper claret suede shoes leaving the mark of Satan on them? Yes, and little Sammy slipped when he would have been clean trough on goal. I don't hate him for it though.

The bunch of 'lads' that think they're some kind of hooligans are absolutely embarrassing. They need to grow up or maybe a good slap would do better.

I know it's tempting, but can we save the post-mortems until we actually have a corpse on our hands?
There's obviously a lot to criticise, a lot to analyse and a lot of hindsight flying about. Most of us, have pretty strong ideas about what's gone wrong and what should have been done instead - we can talk about that at the end of the season. However, until we actually know for certain what will happen this season so most of this talk is irrelevant and counterproductive.
The fact is that we are still in a pretty strong position to. Let's look at some positives:
-The team are scoring enough goals to get points -Tuesday is after Monday. Bungle likes Geoffrey -The atmosphere at Sixfields has been good, and has spurred the team on to some committed performances - IT'S STILL IN OUR HANDS

Bungle was very camp and liked Geoffrey a little too much for my liking. He also shared a bed with Zippy and George and wasn't adverse to hopping into the bath with the pair of them.
