Just been reading through some old threads and wondered how many of those defending Laurent would still share the same views now? I'd say he was one of the final nails in Sammo's coffin.
Also, just wondering how many that were urging for him to have been given a chance will afford that same luxury to Malcolm Crosby?

It has to be "B" Another big smile on my face. I always get the big decisions right.
Couldn't be happier, you can all blame me if it turns pear shaped. Up next year without a doubt and no need of the play-offs.

Laurent was signed by Sammo, and played by Sammo. Manager has to carry the can there.

I just don't think we've proved anything yet with Laurent. We knew that he hadn't played for a while when we signed him and that he'd need some time...he's had some time and still looks rubbish/ lazy/ unfit... The one thing that keeps me optimistic is that he played a lot of games for Southend and their fans seem to love him, so maybe there is still something there.

I get the impression he's a fair weather player...
When the pitches get harder from April to September i reckon he'll look class, but i seriously doubt hes got the fight for a wet Tuesday November night at Accrington....

Well he's definately got something different...and the Sarfend fans still love him....a really warm reception when he came on as sub.
We need a Manager who can bring the best out of him and play to his strengths.

He hadn't even the fight for dry home game v Burton either, allowing the cross in for their opener. Best thing Sammo did was subbing him at h/t, worse thing was starting him! He's terrible at defending and we've seen nought prodeuct from him attacking yet. Bye bye

Opinion hasnt changed on him, i know theres a good player in there somewhere, although sometimes he just doesnt bring it. There was always divided opinion on him at Southend, but the reception he got tells you alittle something about the general feeling towards him. Unfortunately he arrived at the club whilst still unfit for the full-time game, an unsual circumstance but he was worth taken a chance on, it remains to be seen if he'll make much impact in his time here - but i very much doubt he'll be kept on in any case. You can't really have players who only want to turn up when it suits them, i actually think he's probably suited to playing at the higher level, in League 2 its more about winning a battle than anything else, apparently that doesnt appear to be his game!

I think he is probably a bit Sabinesque, he was never the best player, but loved by the fans

Personally i still think there is a decent player in there somewhere.
That 'tackle' on Tuesday was shocking though.

Yeah i liked monsieur Sabin, he weighed himself in with some fine goals too, i dunno by the squint of my eyes, it was almost like watching Thierry Henry.

Nooo... Sammo much like a lot of us, probably too busy engrossed in The Cobblers to have much focus on the low-down of the Prem and who wears what number, we've got it tough, i tell ya...
