Congratulations to Brackley on a fine win

Like I said a couple of days ago we were in with the Brackley fans on the way up to the cobblers game

The atmosphere the engraved was first class

The chester fans at the end were an embarrassment to the club attacking Brackley fans for no reason throwing flares into the crowd and injuring people as well as stones coins and bottles

Kids were crying a Brackley player even took 1 young supporter to the changing room to keep him safe

Chester deserve huge sanctions

Is the final on TV today?

Managers like Bowen and Wilder* are rare to come by! Whether we like it or not Jon Brady is the only recent Manager who can possibly follow in their* footstops!

We should stick with him, as at the moment he is our only hope of survival as a EFL Club!

Found the National League South final, Oxford City v St Albans, so should be okay with the Brackley game. No idea what channel it is?

Got to say seeing the city ground again doesn't bring back pleasant memories.

There are just 22 miles between Oxford City and Brackley yet one is in the Southern final, the other the Northern. I wonder if either ever end up in the other division, the North/South dividing line must lie in between.

Is it finally Brackley's year?

That would be a resounding "No".

Well I watched the game, after watching the Oxford City v St Albans match which was won by Oxford 4 - 0. Brackley were, frankly abysmal, and could have lost by a lot more. They were actually on top until the first goal and then a defensive howler gives Ashley Hemmings a clear run at goal and he scores. After that Brackley huffed and puffed but never looked like scoring. They had Theo Robinson up front who looked way out of his depth, time to retire I think. They also had Adam Rooney on the bench but even at 2 - 0 down the manager still didn't bring him on. Hemmings  also scored the second goal but I thought the goalie should have done better.

In all honesty if Brackley had gone up they would have needed a whole new team on the evidence of that game. As for Kidderminster, they should do well next year and so should Oxford.

Also did Brackley have any fans there, all I heard were Kidderminster fans cheering. I didn't hear any noise from the Brackley fans from start to finish, they really need to get behind their team.

One final comment, what a dreadful commentator Aaron McLean is, he just shouts, it's so annoying. Kevin Davies for the Oxford game showed how it should be done. Still at least we were spared Virgo.

They really were awful, weren't they! Barely won a 50/50 challenge, never got to a loose ball first all game...

As a neutral (Yeah I did want Brackley to win obviously, but wasn't overly bothered) - it reminded me of our play off final against Bradford. Kiddy were 100 times more up for it, on and off the pitch. Kiddy just turned up, did a job, and won the game at a canter. Whilst Brackley looked like they couldn't be assed.

I know what you are saying about the commentator but he did say it how it was. That Brackley's players could not look at themselves after the game and think they'd done everything they could (or words to that effect) to win the game.

Big big opportunity missed for them. But like you imply, probably for the best. They'd have got absolutely battered in the national league and would have had to rebuild from scratch a team presumably on a budget far far less than at least 20 of the 24 teams in that division. It would have ended VERY badly, and probably put them in financial problems for years too come given the extra funding required to compete against all the full time teams.

Got to be honest, I stopped watching half way through.  Even allowing for it being a lower level of football just found it a really poor game to watch.  Also seemed pretty obvious which way the game was going once Kiddy went ahead.

Brackley did really well to get there but maybe just ran out of legs after the previous two intense games?

I went to the game as a slightly biased neutral but on the day the best team won

Kidderminster were strong and knew there jobs and should have scored in the first minute

 Huh

There must be a practical solution to that surely - swop with a more northerly side or something.

I believe the leagues below them have just had a realignment - North, Central and South..

Well, its back.... Brackley are in the playoff final yet again!

Home against Boston United next Saturday for a place in the National League.

A crowd of 1889 saw the Saints beat Chorley by a goal to nil today.

I watched the game on TNT, thought they were dreadful. They had beaten Boston in both league games but never looked like doing so again. Morgan Roberts put them ahead in the first half and looked quite lively for a while but once Boston equalised the game was pretty much over, they won it with a penalty.

It's the seventh time according to TNT they have been in the play offs and the seventh time they have bottled it.

Boston were no better really, I can see them coming straight back down like Kidderminster did last year.

What an annoying bloke Aaron McLean was with his awful shrill voice, he was also biased in favour of Boston - not that it made any difference to the result.

Maybe one day.

Just read my comments from last seasons game - I didn't like Aaron McLean then either so at least I'm consistent. I also said Kiddy would do well - hmmm didn't get that one right.
