It's interesting the focus has been on the dropping of points in the second half and only Fred has pointed out that we've been pretty good in the first. Page may have been poor at substitutions but he certainly knew how to pick a starting eleven. Ducks for cover.

You've done it now, the doommongers will be after you now. How dare you make a positive comment. I wonder which one will shoot you down first.

I can't get to matches very often anymore, but I do listen to the radio, from that I did feel that giving away leads ect.was down to age/fitness issues. Good for 80 mins, but then we seem to be outpaced.

If you take a look at my thread 'first halves versus second halves' (probably a page back) I make this very point. Wed be top 6 based games finishing at half time; we've been winning far more than drawing or losing. Far more. I've made the point countless times that there was nothing wrong with the way Page 'set us up', most of the anti Page brigade claimed he was defensive from the off. And I was more anti Page than most, wanted him fired since Stourbridge! The one and only reason I rejoiced in his sacking was because of his terrible game management, something that his assistant managed to replicate in his only game in charge on Saturday! The 'dodgy signings', the lack of charisma and all the other 'moans' that people have had were for me, minor points. When a teams losing the manager often comes across badly. But I have never seen a more useless management team when it came to the last 20-30 minutes of a game. A real shame because I honestly believe that this squad if managed correctly would have easily been top half...

We will find out very shortly who exactly is at fault because if the team continue to sit back and run out of steam after 70 minutes then it's a deep rooted problem . If we start playing further up the field late in games and JE uses his substitutes better, then we will all know Page hadn't a clue . Either way , Page and Wilko's substitution decisions were amateur at best and have cost us maybe 6 to 9 points .

Yes to a point Drilling but to my eye under Page we adopted a dangerous & deliberate tactic of defending very deep whenever we had the lead or a point to hold on to. Earlier in the season we looked a lot more dangerous on the break but as the pitches became heavier and older legs began to tire the inevitable mistakes occurred at the back to concede late goals. These number of times this happened under Page was ridiculous. I also wonder about the fitness levels of the players or certain of them. This may well have played a part in our run of defeats.

You dont need to duck at all as your comments are most probably correct.

Updated, points gained/dropped 2nd half:
Dropped points = 23 2pts Fleetwood 2pts Charlton 2pts Coventry 3pts B.Rovers (inc injury time winner) 3pts Gillingham (inc injury time winner) 1pt Peterborough (inc injury time winner) 1pt Bradford 1pt Rochdale 1pt Sheffield Utd (inc last min winner) 3pts Bradford (winner 4 mins to go) 1pt Sc***hopre (winner 8 mins to go 3pts Walsall
Gained Points = 7 2pts Southend 1pt Sc***horpe 2pts Oxford (injury time winner) 2pts Coventry
So that's a net 16 points dropped, from half time to final whistle, which would put us in 6th place.

Says the guy that said we had reversed the downward trend under Page when we won 1 game. I dont think you should be lecturing anyone about sample size!

I was hoping you would say that... you have just made yourself look a little foolish... I don't need to tell you why, I think they short term trend will be reversed, as it already has, we won our last league game.
