Thread for those who believe that the Cobblers would be better off with a different manager to discuss this. I know it's early, and many people have a good argument when they say that Page needs to be given more time. But if you give him too much time and fiddle whilst Rome burns, then before you know the failures start to mount up, the club has been as good as relegated and it will take another Wilder-esque rescue act to stop that happening. The poor form, tactical blunders and bizarre man-management can no longer be ignored. We all want our club to do well in the future, and it seems increasing obvious to some supporters that the man to take the club forward is not Rob Page. I intend for this to be a respectful discussion about whether we need a new manager as a football club. If you're pro-Page, feel free to make the case for him, but moans about "negativity" or "glass half empty" are not appreciated!

My opinion of him took a nosedive on Saturday, his tactics are frustrating beyond words and he doesn't inspire any confidence in his interviews. He's got a massive job to turn this around.

Not yet. I've said from the very first game of the season that I don't like the way he sets the side out and I don't like his tactics. But if Wilder taught us one thing it's to stick with a manager during a sticky spell because you never know quite what is around the corner. One or two new players in January might make all the difference. Right now, I'm not impressed but I'm not going to make any knee jerk pronouncements either.

I'm not quite there yet, but there are some major, major concerns for me.
Man management is a massive issue, the way he has totally alienated byrom, McDonald and d ath. Dropping of smith tonight is a mistake, but as bad as anything for me is bringing on a left back to play as a winger when we have two wingers sat on the bench and one who cant get in the squad. That's as good as sticking two fingers up at them.
We have big issues here, lose on Saturday which is inevitable at the moment and they snowball. Come end of December tea discussion could be being had as to if KT trusts page enough to go and spend money in January. Given the summer transfers I have doubts. Its a massive few weeks for the club and page no doubt.

Why? Are you scared of a respectful debate about whether Rob Page is the man to take the club forward or not?

Some great points here. Completely agree. It's crunch time for our season in the next few weeks.

Thanks for that. You obviously didn't read/understand the term "respectful debate". At the moment, there are reasons why Rob Page should stay and reasons why be should leave. Why shouldn't we debate this issue?

Whilst I don't agree with the thread (presently) people should be allowed to have their views. A lot of people seemingly want to put their heads in the sand. We do have some major issues here. I'm not saying sack page now I the answer and he should be given time to turn it around. He just doesn't give me any confidence at all he will.

Not at all, but like I said, it's not helpful at all. We were in the playoffs 3 games ago. Since then, we've had 2 last minute winning goals against us (in games we could have won both of) and a 1-0 defeat against a team unbeaten at home in 17 game. Take a deep breath and look at the bigger picture, you can't change a manager every time you lose a few games, it's ridiculous.

It's a discussion forum, if you don't like the topic don't post. Personally I think Page has lost the plot, lose on Saturday and he's under massive pressure with a tough set of fixtures ahead. Will KT give him money to spend in January, time and results will tell.

Just 3 games ago we were play-off challengers, second top scorers in the division and just recorded our biggest win in 28 years. I'm confused how it has all changed so quickly?!

Even now, only 4 teams have scored more goals than us in League 1. Not bad for a negative manager.
