Not sure about Cornell yet since he has only had 2 league starts but the problem positions are in front of the back 5. Since Revell's goals dried up over a month ago we have struggled.

Goals win games.

Revell 8
Richards 6
Anderson 5
O'Tool 5
Taylor 5
Beautyman 4

All others, 1 or 0.

Our midfield has been quite productive on the goal front this season hasn't it, but everyone's goals have dried up of late other than JJOT (who had two disallowed recently).

He does what a centre half should do. I for one don't want to see him attempt to dribble up field out of defense and spray long curling crosses across the park.

His headed clearances are far too hit and miss, the amount of times he heads it only as far as the edge of the area puts us under extra pressure.

Nor am I suggesting he should be doing that. It would help if he didn't automatically kick it off the pitch when he didn't need to though. He does what an old school centre half did, football has changed.

I agree Zak launches it when under pressure but perhaps that's because Page has told him that's what he wants and not to mess about with it.

I like Zak - good centre half. I hope Page has told all our Centre Halves if in doubt clear it pronto.

Fair point it might be the instructions.

Sometimes it's a necessity to launch it, other times its not.

Zakuani is good enough for us and played well on Sat.
If you don't like him at least suggest someone better!

I don't think this is a major issue with Zak. He is not the best with the ball at his feet, and most of the times I have seen him put the ball out of play are because he is in a 1vs1 situation and doesn't mess around. This also gives the team time to get back into shape.

I reckon today is a huge day for Rob Page.
Lower mid-table and in the hat for FAC3 or just above relegation and out of all cups.
There's a sizable difference between the two.
No-one knows how KT sees the situation and what he will have to do to protect his and more importantly his backer(s) investment.
He might be a "stop the rot now" kinda chairman, equally he could jump in a kneejerk fashion.
As I said big day ahead.

Regarding Zakuani, quite a few fans of that club up the road said something similar. Good at doing the basic defensive work but awful at distribution.
I do rate him though, my biggest issue with him is the international games and the disruption that brings. Cant begrudge someone playing for / captaining their country though.

My thought is he is good whilst we are trying to settle in this division, when we want to start pressing for more I think we will have to replace him

I don't recall Sampson and Warburton being overly cultured at playing out from the back but generally being happy with them.

I did (do) like Concrete as last season when he progressed he anticipated play, didn't need to rush and could play to feet. Row Z is an option that defenders shouldn't be afraid to take but playing it to feet and retaining possession surely should be preferable when on.
It irritates me when there's a pass on and we don't take it and either hoof it or pass back to the keeper who then hoofs it. Then the lottery of winning headers starts.

I think someone should just take this city of Peterborough and just... just flush it down the f***in' toilet
