After the humiliation of Stourbridge I reckon we'll win this. You normally win after getting embarrassed. There's still alot of hate towards Page but this is a big game nevertheless. I can't see KT getting rid of him before the transfer window.
Prediction 2-0 Cobbs.

Big game, Rochdale's away form is very poor so if we do turn up we should win this one. Completely down to how we / Page responds to the Stourbridge defeat how this one will go I believe.
I would play: Smith Phillips--Zakuani--Nyatanga--Buchanan Anderson--O'Toole--Taylor--Gorre Hoskins--Rico
Cornell, McDonald, Hanley, Beautyman, McCourt, Iaciofano, Revell
I don't expect this to be anywhere close to Page's team, however.

Let's hope for a big reaction after getting outdone by a bunch of part timers.
I would play:
Smith (Restored after Cornell has made an error)
Phillips Zak Nyatanga Buchs (Not really much room for change here other than Rod)
JJ Byrom (Byrom cannot be any worse than McCourt has been lately, he has simply forgotten how to pass the ball)
Anderson Hoskins Taylor
Iaciofano
See if Taylor can be more effective further up the field, and Sammy running through the middle behind a young talent waiting for his chance. Considering we seem unable to score goals, I cannot see why he is not being given a chance.
But I am guessing we will start with the same eleven, although hopefully Smith will be restored after Cornell's blunder.

The big issue is that Rico , Revell and Mccourt have all gone off the boil when Maloney is injured.
Hopefully the return of O'Toole will spark a bit of life into them, and losing to stourbridge is the kick up the arse they have needed.

Team selection will depend on how under pressure page feels he is - based on precedent you would expect smith to come back in after cornell's mistake but I can't see it as he is obviously trying to prove a point. The fact that o'toole will surely just walk back in highlights where we are at the moment as he hasn't exactly been pulling up trees himself. The defence picks itself with page not prepared to give rod a go - Hoskins and Taylor (despite his poor form) are certainties but the rest are pretty much throw the names in a bag and pick them out.

There is a bigger issue than that.

Similar to after the embarrassment away at Boro, the fixtures have been kind and handed us a great game to bounce back in.
Rochdale have lost their last four games away from home, conceding 12 and scoring 0 in the process.
A run that included comprehensive defeats against Swindon, Coventry and Gillingham, all of whom have spent the vast majority of the season in / or just above the relegation places.
I'm still not entirely confident but surely any 11 we put out will have a half a chance on Saturday.

I have a horrible feeling that the team confidence is totally shot, add that to the high probability of discord in the dressing room I can see us getting our ärses handed to us on plate.

A lot will depend on how us 'the fans' react. Reading some of the illiterate bile on the internet over the past day or so I would imagine that some will be making their poorly spelled placards as we type/read.
Remember kids...wave them if you must before and after the game. During the game and you might find yourself picking your poorly maintained teeth off the floor and your poorly spelled placards out of your arse.
I can see us winning this but I can also see us drawing or loosing. Prepare yourselves for any of the three and if it's the later try not to kick or punch inanimate objects on the way out. Save it all up and punch yourself in the face at home.

I would go with Smith Phillips Zak Rod Buchs JJOT Byrom Ando Hoskins D'Ath Rico
I understand why Smith was dropped but he is simply the better keeper, Cornell has missed a fair few punches eg at Vale, Bradford, Stourbridge so I would put Smith back in. Nyatanga loved a long ball as most CB's do but Rodders has more composure at the back so would bring him in.
Mccourt and Taylor were AWFUL on Tuesday and I think Byrom deserves his chance. Likewise with D'ath, he has featured on the bench a lot recently and I would give him a go. He is not a world beater but provides energy and movement at least.
One of Pages biggest issues is that he seems to have completely discarded a large portion of the squad. Now is the time to use what we have at our disposal.

I totally agree, but lets face it - its not going to happen, unless we appoint a PR person who tells Page that this will relieve some of the angst against him.

Bring back Smith, Rod, Byrom, D'Ath, O'Toole along with Buchs, Richards & Hoskins and you have 8 of last season's momentous championship winning side back together, and Potter makes nine. Get 'em back together. Smith Phillips Zakuani McDonald Buchanan Potter O'Toole Byrom D'Ath Hoskins Richards
