That was a weird game, Swindon far worse than Chesterfield on Saturday, but trying to play like they are better than Barcelona in their pomp. They seemed intent on finding a way to pass back to their goalie, who would then try a 40 yard pass wide to an advanced full back. They looked totally toothless up front and the only threat came from their quick right winger.

We could any should have had 5 or 6 tonight, no exageration, but another 3 points in the bag and another step towards mid table.

JJOT MOTM by a mile, Rico could and should have had a hatrick. Boateng had a strange game, some great interceptions and dribbling on the ball, then spells in the 2nd half when he looked shattered and disinterested, having to be cajoled along by Taylor and Edinburgh. Another assist for Taylor for the winner, then correctly dragged of for McCourt with 5 mins to go. Maybe this is the way to handle him, if we are holding onto a result get him off pronto, because he offers nothing in open play.

Pleased with that... Would swap Rico for Taylor on the pens though. Can't keep missing them. Thought Boateng and M Smith were spot on tonight...

Taylor, good game including a saving tackle in the first half. JJ excellent, boatang (an enigma) always looks knackered then runs like he's just come on, like JJ excellent. the rest of the team 7 out of 10 including Rico who left his scoring boots at home. Easy win, hammered them 2-1. Cheesy

They used that 'tactic'  at their place as well...

Anybody else hear the div in the North bellow "CHANGE IT" about 5 seconds after they scored and around 20 seconds before we scored the winner?

I don't understand the reluctance to use subs. Swindon used their 3 and were revitalised somewhat. One or two of our lot looked knackered, why doesn't he freshen it up for the last 20 mins or so?

Absolutely battered them with the exception of a ten minute spell where we resorted to old habits and fell back behind the ball in numbers.

Their goal was very well taken, but preventable. Other than Smith making a great save on the line and the defence dealing with it, Swindon offered nothing other than some bizarre "pass it out from the back" tactics ala Pep Guardiola.

We were far superior, harried after them and forced mistakes, and played some lovely football at times.

Eardley had another superb game, along with Nyatanga who looked really impressive tonight at the back. JJ and Boateng have formed a formidable partnership and although it looked like Boateng took a knock which slowed him down a little, the ran the show in the middle of the park and made Taylor look good.

Keshi did his best in his new role, tracking back well at times but I'd rather see him up top. Still, he won a penalty and numerous free kicks, as well as being unlucky when he hit the post. Michael Smith held the ball up brilliantly and was a perfect foil for when we went long. Poor Rico missed another pen but should have had at least a hat-trick, looks fighting fit though which is great to see.

Important three points and back to back wins since god knows when. A very happy man tonight!

Just 11 points off the playoffs  Tongue

Heard a rumor from two Swindon fans that Swindon striker Hylton was dropped to the bench for tonight's game and so he stormed off in a taxi.

Not at all!!!

I cannot imagine someone that has only played 11 games this year would be too fussed about being on the bench, but stranger things have happened I guess  Shocked

I have never seen a team give the ball away like they did tonight ! Terrible .
Boating was a different class tonight .
Why oh why do we not change things sooner though . Taylor could hardly move after 70 minutes again and was partly culpable for the goal . McCourt comes on and makes a heroic block that was definitely going in , which if Taylor was still on the pitch would have certainly been a goal .
We have to change it sooner in games .
Buchanan is also becoming a worry . Most goals come down the left now .

Sorry , don't mean to moan .... We played quite well and I'm liking the improvement all round Smiley
