I'd say that Chesterfield & Con are definitely down, the other teams are very much in the mix...

Hopefully it will be a short-lived thread.....!!

Here are the games involving the relegation "chasers" this week....

Tues...

Bury  v  Coventry City

Northampton  v  Oldham
Rochdale  v  Port Vale
Shrewsbury  v  Charlton
Swindon  v  Gillingham
Walsall  v  Chesterfield

Sat..

Bury  v  Gillingham
Northampton  v  Charlton
Shrewsbury  v  Coventry
Southend  v  Port Vale
Swindon  v  Chesterfield
Walsall  v Oldham

With three six-pointers on each day the table could have a clearer look about it by next weekend.....

I don't think we'll go down I've seen worse teams than us this year but football is an unpredictable game that's why we all love it

We need 10 points from 12 games to be sure of being safe. That equates to a points per game rate of 0.833. Only the bottom two teams have failed to meet the rate over the season. So I would think that we will be OK.

Fortunately some home games coming up because I can't see us taking many points on our travels.

The fact that 4 teams drop from the division makes our current position very vulnerable. The memory of our 2009 relegation still haunts me.

Ditto. The next 3 home games look really important given the challenges beyond.

Will 50 points be enough this year? I'll feel safer when we reach 52.

March
Charlton (h)
Wimbledon (a)
Port Vale (h)

April
Shrewsbury (h)
Bury (a)
Gillingham (h)

I think these are realistic opportunities for a win, would be great for a mini-run of points again now to avoid relying on results in April.

Does all depend on the teams around us of course, hopefully they will all continue being awful as well.

Could easily see one of the last relegated teams getting to 50 pts, both of them, probably not. 52 pts has to be the target.

I agree, but if you believe others, there are no easier games 😉
