Right, just for info here is the safety points required since the new format took effect.

2004–05 51
2005–06 51
2006–07 48
2007–08 49
2008–09 50
2009–10 51
2010–11 48
2011–12 50
2012–13 49
2013–14 50
2014–15 51
2015–16 47

I can't see Swindon, Chesterfield or Coventry being an issue.
That makes Oldham, Portvale must wins, because I would hate for both teams to be scrapping for survival when we entertain Gillingham.

Looks like the task is 4 wins and a couple of draws from the last 12 games then...

Chesterfield also off.

Another plus, we play Oxford after they've gone best part of a month playing Saturday Tuesday.

Saturday just got bigger!!

Bury and Gillingham, the two teams directly below us meet each other, whilst Swindon have a home game against Chesterfield.

Unfortunately this feels like the 08/09 season all over again.

Incidentally that season and this season are also only two seasons in recent times when an NTFC player has scored a Sixfields hat-trick...

Just had a scan over the teams below us in the table and Bury's run in is very difficult (on paper)

Although we don't look great, I think we are going to stay up but it will be close. Those last three games are going to be huge and we'll have to take points in all, but if you were looking at run in difficulty, we should be ok. Obviously this doesn't factor in teams form and anything can happen in any single game, but just an observation.

I'd been away for over a month before the Oldham game so a lot of the players were new to me, in honesty Smith, Boateng, Wylde the new right back and to a lesser degree Anderson all looked like average league 2 players none did a thing to inspire me and I worry that the future is looking grim, I am an optimistic person usually but it looks a tough time.

Neil Grayson in the snow?

Billy Clarke. He scored a hat-trick then didn't score again, hopefully Keshi will score more than his hat-trick starting this Saturday.

I agree it is very similar. Should have got points from games we lost that season aswell, points add up come the end of the season. Since JE came in we should have 2 extra points from Walsall & Oldham, let alone from when Page was here. I think we would be safe now if narrow defeats had been turned into draws instead.

Wrong decade mate. 'Larry' was 1994-1997. Excellent wholehearted player.

To be honest there are still a few away grounds I haven't been to in League 2. Forest Green and Dover would be nice away days. And as I pointed out to you youngsters some months ago, we're gonna be in League 1,2 or the National for the rest of your lives so get used to it.

History is on our side we have been in Div 2(old) for 3 years and L1(old) for 1 year. Of course this happened a long time ago but still within living memory; a few astute signings will see us climb the leagues again Wink. One other thing can you tell me this Sat winning lottery numbers as you seem very confident in predicting the future.
Thanks.

If we can find another 40 goal a year man, plus a manger like Bowen, you might be right.

The key to the future is in the past; i.e. sh1t usually stays looking very similar to sh1t unless you roll it in glitter

The circumstances surrounding Bowen helped a lot - we were able to offer very good signing on fees which helped in attracting players like Holton, Reid and Ashworth.
But the real secret of the 63/64 and 65 sides was the defence which simply in the 2nd & 3rd Divs did not concede goals as we do now.
