Yea, probably competing about as well as we were in the first half of the season.
Pretty much this, like for like results haven't changed, JED was lucky to join before a run of much easier games.

I appreciate this is the relegation watch thread but I would prefer Oxelana to lose as we are much more likely to overhaul them as to be caught by Bury

Bury 1 down
Now 4-0 down, how good does that make us, stopping Oxelona from scoring

Three goals in 5 minutes for AFC Dons against Rochdale who have had Keane sent off, so he'll be out for Saturday.

Some people are capable of differentiating between results and performances. We are also capable of differentiating between how opponents and the threat they pose can differ with months in between. We are also capable of seeing a marked improvement in our own side and our approach to matches. Other than the initial couple of settling in matches we've been competitive i.e. A good match for our opponents in all subsequent games under JED whether that be top middle or bottom of the table irrespective of the final result. If you think that was the case for the whole of the first half of the season I'm guessing you fell into a coma around November time.

Very good post, a few others could do a lot worse than look to you for advice on how to explain this point of view.............even if like for like results have not improved 😉

Think we've had this discussion before. Don't really give much importance to like for like results and don't see why anyone should...other than in a rather vain attempt to prove a point There's a massive difference between playing home or away. A lot of teams are completely different prospects with months in between fixtures. Also suspensions and injuries make a big difference not to mention the Cobblers have a completely different manager and play a totally different style.

I support Northampton, so I'm looking at our results, there will always be the odd anomaly but the overall trend is very consistent. Ps It's "their", Millwall and Rovers have capital letters.

Again, hard to argue with the points you make, but still, our points per game haven't improved based on the skewed strength of teams we have played.

Jesus, you won't win or lose every match, but there is a definite overall trend. Surely you can see that?

Exactly. Under Page there were many performances and results that I'm sure would not have been bettered by the current stewardship. E.g Walsall (H), Southend (H), Swindon (A), Sc***horpe (A), Oxford (A), Sheff Utd (A), Shrewsbury (A) and a few others. We had a few poor performances, like Posh, Bristol Rovers, Milwall etc but then again we've had a few poor ones under JDE like Oldham and Fleetwood and who have we beaten since Page left that we wouldn't have expected to? Results have, by and large, consistently ALL season depended on the quality of the opposition.
