Half decent, they're in the top 7 of the best home form in the league - 10 wins, 1 draw and 6 defeats. There's also the Adam smith factor to consider - he'll either have a blinder or a stinker.

Gonna be tough then.

Where's Cobbler 78 when we need him to tell us one way or the other!  Seriously you'd like to think that their run against us must come to an end at some point - either that or we're still paying for tgat play-off turnaround all those years ago!

The lack of goals scored this season is the biggest indicator of where we will end up.  Those teams that over the course of the season don't score many, but have a leaky defence, generally end-up relegated.

It's quite simple, we dismiss all doomsday talk, get behind the team big time and the Manager too. From the Chron report, the players or some of them did not appreciate the booing. Whether it was justified or not it doesn't help and hardly encourages them. Somebody said on here we need to get to away games in numbers. Let the players see and hear the strength of our support. We did it at Dagenham all 3000 of us so we can do it again.

One often drops out of around mid table in the last few weeks to get relegated? Who’s the likely candidate for that gig, Southend?

Despite yesterday’s result Southend have picked up massively since Powell took over and I can see them just about being ok - it’s Oxford who are prime candidates for me, no manager and on a terrible run (but we still didn’t beat them). If we had beaten them they would be firmly in the mire.

Who knows - anything could happen, this is football and we are the cobblers after all. What is clear however is that we’ve got to sort our own form out and with 2 tough matches coming up that’s not going to be easy.

As they said on the channel 5 goals show it is amazing what oztumer has done for Walsall - as near to a one-man side as there is in lower division football.

Totally agree his goals and bit of class above are going to keep them up

Given most think 14 points are needed in the remaining games it’s looking tough. Four of the sides we play at home are currently in the top seven going for automatic or play offs!! Home form is absolutely key in survival and judging by one point in the last three I’m not sure we’re getting out of this. Looking at the fixtures below I’m struggling to find 14 points, hope I’m wrong.

Christ - it looks a bit grim when you lay it out in black and white like that.

That's nine of the 23 other teams in the division, would we be able to get 14 points easier from nine of the other fourteen?

What worries me now is when you are above the relegation line a point can seem like a good one if it keeps you above it.
It’s quite possibly we pick up nothing in our next two games and then the pressure will well and truly be on. I don’t think we have the players or management to be ‘brave enough’ to go for the wins needed, they all seem too delicate and sensitive for a proper relegation battle.

Wow that looks horrible I can't find more than 10 points out of that lot and that's being very optimistic.
The terrible results against Gilly, Dale and Poxford have doomed us.

Home: Rotherham, Charlton, Shrewsbury, Plymouth, Oldham
Away: Blackpool, Bristol Rovers, Fleetwood, Peterborough, Bury, Walsall

I'd say our best chances of three points would be Oldham at home and then two from Blackpool/Fleetwood/Bury/Walsall.

Charlton's form is a bit patchy at the minute despite their league position (last five is LDDWL), so maybe a point from them. as we seem to do okay against the "harder" teams.

That's still only ten points at best, we will do well to keep ourselves up. Like others have said, really slams home how those draws/losses at home to other teams in the battle could cost us.
