Taylor did alright....but a decent keeper would have saved his shot.....it wasn't that good!! Fair play to Taylor though, he'd have probably said he saw the keeper out of position and went for the gap!!
His set pieces were average, a couple of back passes when it seemed easier to go forward.......but, he did win a tackle or two last night!!

I don't think his corners were any better than the Vale lads ones were. Decent inswingers but Vale seemed to have nobody coming round the back to attack them so the chances were gone.

We did enough to win last night, wanted to see Rico score, couldn't tell whether he was getting abuse from the Vale fans or not! Shame he strayed offside.
Everyone was much of a muchness. The defence did ok with Phillips again the stand out man for me....the diamond (not Z) doesn't work.....Keshi had a couple of runs at their defence but kept hold of the ball for so long he was eventually crowded out. Williams was very hit and miss. O'Toole quiet. Smith did well early doors but seemed to run out of steam. Thought that Anderson P looked good in his cameo appearance.

Vale were very limited....although hard working. I think they'll pick up the points they need...it will be tight but them at the expense of Oldham or Shrewsbury I think.

A word too for the ref last night...thought he was pretty decent, let play go when he needed to, pulled it back when required.

Just trying to be humorous. What makes you think that I am "fixated with the subject"? Just curious....as opposed to bi curious! That's another attempt at humour!

Sorry, I got you mixed up with a homophobic idiot from another thread. On reading back I see that you are quite gay friendly. Good for you. Smiley

Don't know where you sit but Taylor's goal looked very different from behind the goal as it did from the replay. He played for it by basically playing the keeper a dummy after noticing he was a yard or two out of position and then placed his shot. The one moment of true class I've seen from any player/team so far this season.

I dont dispute that a decent goalie might have saved Taylors shot, but we are in L1 not the Prem or Championship where most decent ones can be found. The thing which fooled the goalie was that the ball bounced en route ; was reasonably well struck so with the Goalie being slightly OOP the result was a goal.  As Clarence says it was a moment of sheer class as was his cross and resulting pen against the Dons. I am glad he is with us as his last two goals have most probably assured our place in L1 next season.
