http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39425301Looks like Shaun Harvey hasn't given up on the idea of B teams in the Chuckletrade trophy next season, and is using the fact that they've lucked out with two well supported teams in the final to support his views. There is a meeting of the football league chairman on 11th April at which the future of this competition will be put to a vote. Given the almost universal condemnation of B teams, I would strongly encourage supporters to contact the club via email or Kelvin Thomas on Facebook to encourage a "no" vote from NTFC if B teams voted upon for next season. I'd assume that the Trust is already all over this.

Kelvin is well aware of the opposition to B teams, both from that meeting and the survey commissioned by the Trust prior to the competition starting last year. But I'm sure something in writing wouldn't do any harm. Instead of bombarding Kelvin, feel free to email ntfc_trust@outlook.com with your views, and we can collate them all in one email to form part of the Trust's response.

I would rather nail my knackers to the mast of a sinking ship than attend a Chuckletrade trophy match in it's current format.

Are teams obliged to enter this competition?. Am I right in thinking that Derby County forgot to send in their entry forms for the FA Cup some years back and were excluded from the competition, perhaps our entry could be lost in the post (or the ether if it's an "e" form)

I think it's pretty obvious that the fans don't like the current format. To get the go ahead again for next season it will be down to the Clubs to decide. So if it does happen blame the Club Chairman for being greedy.

My view is that this competition should be binned once and for all. Most clubs at our level have small squads and with 46 league matches plus the League & FA Cups there is more than enough football from August - May. We are fully stretched without the need for a trophy for which the attendances show there is little appetite.

Why not just have a match at Wembley between the winners of Leagues 1 and 2 at the end of the season? EFL makes money, fans get their day out.

fans views are irrelevant when it comes to things like this.
if clubs have made more money from it this year, they will vote in favour of it.
the only issue i had with it this year, having ignored it totally, was the decision to fine clubs for playing squad members - they should be allowed to field whatever teams they want to.

Play the group stage as a regionalist tournament pre season, better than losing to Premier League fringe players or local pub teams.

I actually agree that were a large chunk of the tournament to effectively replace pre-season friendlies, it would garner a little bit more interest. More importantly, it wouldn't interrupt the league campaign quite so much.

I don't think it is a case of the Chairman being greedy. With the attendances at this years games we more than likely lost money.

It seems to me there's rather too much self loathing with this trophy. After all the idea of the two lower divisions having a knock out cup of our own seems perfectly logical. It gives us a genuine chance to play a final at Wembley instead of simply hoping for simply a tie against one of the 'big boys'. Even if the early rounds are a distraction early in the season it gives us a chance to see the squad members and younger players in action. As the rounds progress so the interest ramps up. If only us supporters could gain a little respect for the fellow clubs in our league and get a bit of media interest the trophy could be the success it deserves to be. Who needs the prancing prem ponies to make it a cup worth winning?

Anybody know what the clown did actually say? I've just tried looking but couldn't see anything in the match report on the Oxford Mail site
