I can't really think that anybody else has sealed promotion at Sixfields apart the two you mentioned.

Gillingham had a big game here several years back.. I doubt the outcome gained promotion?
Sc***horpe were defeated in a game that would've seen then promoted.. love a good pi55 on a parade..
A good win down in Millwall would harm their play off ambitions we could also have fun relegating Bury.

Back in the County Ground days Wrexham won promotion in 1993 some faces here! Look out for Chardy booting the ball at the ref and only getting a yellow  Shocked

Oh my! A pitch invasion and advertising boards getting knocked over! Do you think the 1993 Cobblers fans had a fit over it as well?

Apparently it was immediately following this very match that a Cobblers fan went home and invented the Internet just so he could vent his spleen! Grin

Excellent, I was on the cricket side with my Dad and Brother. Great run by Chardy up the wing in the 2nd half, three crunching tackles that wouldn't be allowed today.

Dodgy evening against Wrexham. Around 3000 from North Wales, including a few in the Hotel End, running on when the scored. A 2-0 defeat left us hanging to league football by a thread, Wrexham promoted...and kicking off all over outside - generally us being over run.
We went on to Shrewsbury and...

Of course for promotions in Northampton, nothing is going to beat Pompey, May 1980!
Crowd of 10,774 packed into the County Ground...getting on for 7000 Pompey fans. Up the floodlights, in the Hotel End, fires in the Spion Kop. A 2-0 win for Portsmouth kept damage to a minimum that day!
Strangely, no pitch invasions that I remember!

Kind of the exact opposite. But when Grimsby had already invaded the pitch thinking they had been promoted... Only for us to score with the last kick of the game  Grin

Didn't seem to be one after the 2nd goal though? As the cops had the dogs out, why dont they use them anymore,  is it against health and safety, or some old bollox?

Brought loads to the CG, early nineties on their way up - but not close to actual promotion on the day. Also brought a load for night game around 93ish.

Seem to remember we relegated Bury once before. About 2005? Paddy Kenney beating the turf afterwards! Could be Gillingham this time.

Barnet were relegated from L2 back in 2013, the Aidy Boothroyd Wembley season.

Didnt we relegate Luton the year they went into the conference too? Or did we just push them closer to it?

We pushed Oxford closer to the conference a few years back  Grin I think it was the game before the Grimsby one ( or a couple before)

Also remember relegating Chesterfield at Sxifields before but couldn't say when.
