I think we've long since established that you and I want vastly different things out of away days. The difference is that I'm capable of recognising that "different" doesn't equate to "wrong". Tiny bit of antagonism here

Nothing to do with 'different'! You made a rather (excuse ridden) bravado comment about not going because of the s***ty ground (one of best in League One) and s***ty part of London. Granted, Bermondsey isn't so salubrious but London Bridge (as I've clearly pointed out) is brilliant, whether it be for pubs, food, views, history or general sightseeing! So instead of hiding behind emojis...what exactly makes an away day for you???

Left out of London Bridge station. Oldest (and imo best) part of the city. South Bermondsey, seven minute next stop to The New Den. By far the best part of the city. I have used LB station a lot in the past, and there are some quality pubs within a five minute walk. The Anchor, on the riverbank, and The George, Borough High Street, (grade one listed) are worth a visit. Not cheap, but this is London. And not being picky, but, its four minutes to South Bermondsey.

Looking forward to visiting some of my old haunts down Deptford and New Cross before the game.
If you're going by train please check times before hand. Southeastern is running very limited services over the Easter weekend.

It seems like seven minutes when the carriage is full of Millwall! Also the four or five craft ale breweries off Tooley St in Bermondsey. The Southwark Brewery Tap is closed over Easter, though might try another of them.

Thank you JR, I'll have a look at that. Don't really want to get the tube.

Granted, Bermondsey isn't so salubrious but London Bridge (as I've clearly pointed out) is brilliant, whether it be for pubs, food, views, history or general sightseeing! So instead of hiding behind emojis...what exactly makes an away day for you??? Ok, to expand on my earlier comment, the immediate area around the ground is a toilet, and the same goes for Leyton, Charlton, Palace, Tottenham and Dagenham. Brentford isn't much better, Fulham marginally more so . My heart sinks when the London fixtures come up as I pretty much hate all the outer reaches of the city. I love going out in the West End but having spent years working in central London the novelty has pretty much worn off, regardless of whatever Samuel Johnson had to say on the matter. If I was going to matches with mates then I get the attraction of getting the train down, stopping off in a nicer area for a few pints and a decent meal before heading out to the ground and then doing the same thing in reverse after the game. Sadly, none of my mates are Cobblers fans so I go to matches with my dad and kids. My old man isn't up to jumping on and off trains anymore so it's either a case of driving in and trying to park (which is invariably a nightmare) or getting on one of the godawful coaches which dump you right outside the ground in the middle of sh1tsville. Neither are an attractive proposition. So what do I look for? Ideally, a ground in walking distance of a town centre where you can have a wander about, find a decent pub (which for me has nothing to do with what beers they sell and is more to do with what the surroundings are like and how good the food is) and then stroll to the ground. Sadly, most grounds that match this description seem to be getting flogged off to build houses or supermarkets on so when you're visiting an out of town ground then, failing any nearby pubs of a reasonable standard (e.g. not a Hungry Horse or a Harvester), I tend to look for somewhere fairly homogeneous but where you know the food and surroundings will be decent enough if unexciting, like a Missoula, Coast to Coast, TGIs or even a Frankie and Benny's if you happen to have a spare hour or two to wait for them to serve you. To be honest, I expect you to pour scorn on that because you'll find it boring, but by the same standard I find the idea of wandering from pub to pub trying different real ales a complete turn off. Different strokes for different folks, as they say. We don't all like the same things and it would be a sad old world if we did.

I don't think he will poor scorn as he knows as well as anybody we all have our own prefs. You don't have to justify how you spend your match days either. You clearly have other responsibilities; suspect Coolie is a bachelor and as you know their outlook on life maybe entirely different from yours/ours. Afraid you have to humour him and ask what his favourite beer is! As PattCobb said we are all Cobbs supporters - a special breed!

For my awaydays I lie somewhere in the middle of Coolie and Backof Elaborating on that fact, if I visit an away ground I want to see a bit of the locality, visit a few pubs make a whole day of it. Generally travel alone (partner is a Wrexham fan so does his own thing) but always meet Cobblers fans here and there on the way. Nearly always travel by train as I don't own a car right now (try it) If I wasn't away at Easter then I would have stayed in London for this match and my list of places to visit post match would have been erm interesting to say the least 😜

Not forgetting the Horsham Cobblers' (all 4 of us) favourite watering hole for Millwall away: "The Barrowboy & Banker". Right out of LB station, past the entrance to the Underground et voila ! Great pint of London Pride.

Try taking the steps to the left of Barrowboy, through the (packed usually!) Borough Market and to use your phrase..voila! There is the Market Porter. Think you might prefer...much bigger range of ales, atmospheric. Southwark Tavern, Rake and a third pub (next door) all a matter of yards away...and sorted!

It's a bit ironic that we're going to Millwall on Good Friday, all we'll need is for Bob Hoskins to turn up and we'll have a full set. Unfortunately I can see it being a bit of a long good Friday - I think the best we can hope for is a point but we're going to have to put a really good defensive performance in and hope they have an off day especially if jjot is rested which sounds likely. The rational side of my brain accepts that it is incredibly unlikely that we are going to be sucked into the relegation battle but I don't like the feeling that we are likely to be going to go into the Shrewsbury game with pressure on. Looking at tomorrow's fixtures I can see Swindon beating Wimbledon who look like they're on the beach, I'm hoping that Sheffield united aren't hungover against port vale, Shrewsbury have got a winnable home game against Walsall and hopefully Bristol rovers will give gillingham a tough game.

Where do we stand on JJ playing?
We know he is injured and struggled badly at the end of the Sheffield game. I would rather he sits this one out and gets the nod when Shrewsbury come to town on Monday, than a bit part appearance in both games.
Is Boateng still with us? If he is then I think we should give him a game, especially as we are not expecting anything from this. McWilliams can come on in the secn=ond half when he tires.
My team would be:
Smith
Moloney Zander Nyatanga Buchs
Anderson Boateng Williams Taylor
Smith Rico
Still cannot work out at times if we are playing straight 4-4-2 or the silly diamond (not a fan).

Happy with this team. I think Boeteng is due a good game, he was great a couple of months ago. I think the end of season will be the usual tight affair for us, not safe (hopefully) until the last game or two.
