That is untill Cornell makes a howler next week and we lose another game. Goal keeper is important, but I think it's clear we need 2 or 3 in asap. Desperately needed is a goal scorer, where you magic a 20 goal a season forward from at this late stage in any bodies guess. Should have been sorted with the keeper well before now and Jed may pay with his job in a month or so time
May be the 20 goal a season striker is already in the ranks? Waters, Long or Lobjoit possibly only if played in their strongest position.

Lobjoit ran around a bit like a headless chicken in his appearance at QPR but their defenders weren't happy playing against him and had one cleared off the line. Might be worth giving him a start?

hanson is a much better option than richards or revell - but you would need to offload one of them first.
Agreed. Looks like Sc***horpe are in for him... we already know they're short on transfer funds.

James Hanson would be great.

I can honestly see JE being stubborn and sticking to his word of "no more signings apart from a keeper"
Which would be a shame because not having created that many chances and not scoring a single goal seems to be the biggest issue so far this season.

Agreed, much as I would like to see another striker in I cannot see it happening. I saw Tarpey playing for Maidenhead against Hartlepool on BT Saturday and he scored 2 in that game to go with his 44 for last season in the National League South. He now has 7 in 4 in the National League albeit two last night were penalties. Someone will sign him. On another note, good to see Brackley at the top of National League North after 4 games and four wins. Hope they make it into the National League.

Not sure about that! If we do sign him it's a bit like new RN carrier will need some specialist support which we may not have. Be ok for the long ball tho'

Or it could be KT saying "you've had enough money and budget". Depends whether he trusts him to get another couple in.

If we signed Hanson we'd just end up with a slightly better/younger version of Revell i.e. a target man who relies on decent crosses into the box but is otherwise fairly limited.
Forget this obsession with signing a 20-goal-a-season striker. What we need is to create more chances and that will involve either a change of personnel at wing back and in the hole or a change of system.
Personally, I'm convinced that, barring the signing of a commanding GK, we already have the players to be a top-ten L1 outfit; the big question is whether JED is going to start using them properly.

I know it is irrelevant now but I still think we should have gone for James Armson from brackley - he's scored 6 goals from midfield in the first 4 games of the season on the back of a very good season last year.

I'm not sure your reasoning for saying it is irrelevant, but it is totally. He would never move into league football.

Depends on wether or not, KT feels that the current squad is adequate for this level. Personally, I feel that it is, its just a question of playing people in their preferred positions, and not trying to force players into a very narrow system, that they are clearly unaccustomed to. I wonder if any of the centrebacks, were told prior to their signing, "by the way, you will be part of a back three?". Or if any of the midfield were told "by the way, we will just launch it over your head?". It reminds me of Emyr Huws, who was rated highly by Man City, and thus a decent prospect, standing around looking bemused, as the ball sailed aimlessly over his head. Not that any of this matters, as Jed is clearly a stubborn man. IMO, this squad is good enough, apart from a new keeper, its up to him to find a system that suits them, and not him. I work in construction, and routinely have to deal with a new influx of agency workers, and thus find them jobs that they are capable of, and I trust them to do. Not force them to do something that they are uncomfortable with. It all comes down, yet again, to round pegs and square holes. Yeah/No, needs to evaluate if his system is ever going to work, or not, given what he has at his disposal. If, as I suspect, the answer is yes, then he needs to beware of itchy trigger fingers. Foreign owners, by and large, tend to be impatient people.

Hanson wages would surely be on a different level (i.e. much higher) to the rest of the squad?

I'm guessing that wages wouldn't be an issue with the Chinese on board - more of an issue would be a bloated squad and the small matter of JED being on record as saying that he doesn't want to add anyone else other than the mythical goalkeeper that hasn't materialised yet.

KT hasn't ruled out movement in and out before transfer deadline day, plus of course the much anticipated goalkeeper situation to finally get sorted out.

I'm not sure why everyone is quite so impatient on the goalkeeper situation, it has been quite clear for weeks that it will be sorted near the end of the window.

Yeah interesting comments from KT. Be interesting to see what happens....for me I would like to see one of Rico/Revs moved out and a new forward brought in. Wouldn't mind a proper winger joining too but not holding my breath on That!
