The moaning for a GK is over.

And let the moaning begin about what a poor signing on paper this is!

I'll start- Edinburgh said "an experienced senior goalkeeper will be signed". Coddington has played 5 senior games in his entire career.

I admire your optimism  Grin

It's become a tad tiresome, particularly with
a) Cornell starting the season so well (and I thought he was near awful last season)
b) Clearly bigger problems with the team this season (JED's approach to games)

Thankfully the game isn't played on paper.

The only thing JED has kept is word on, is that one of his targets was awaiting his Premier League owners, being happy to release him.

He may not be senior, but he is at least competition for Cornell, and for now that is enough.

Edinburgh's made a bit of a tit of himself here. Should have kept his mouth shut about his preferred targets unless he knew for certain they were going to sign. No secret that Coddington was 3rd choice at best and he heightened fans expectations for a far greater signing.

Oh well, at least we have it sorted now.

I was more referring to optimism that the moaning would stop.

As for the signing, I'm looking on the bright side, very similar signing to Nicholls and Smith when we got them, happy it's a permanent deal

Keeper sorted, and the fact Huddersfield asked for a sell on fee indicates he is rated highly.

Fits the bill of young and potentially valuable to the club if sold, so a good signing.

Not quite the "experienced" keeper quoted, but will give Cornell good competition for that number one spot.

What is more interesting to me is the hint from KT that there may be incomings/outgoings before the deadline contrary to what JED said at the open forum and in subsequent interviews.

Yep, and he's played for England U/19 like Raheem Hanley so he should be pretty good.

How I see it. Feel very underwhelmed knowing we were targeting better. This is after we all knew JED had him on trial, and still pursued other targets.

Dear oh dear what an anti climax, I sorry but this guy has made 5 appearances at non league level letting in an average of two goals per game. Competition for Cornell my arse.
Is that a fair swap Adam Smith for Coddington, no way.

And to say he must be great because Udders have an add on clause is ridiculous, all selling clubs have this clause irrespective, apart from us of course.

JED said the trial was with a view to a loan, he became available on a permanent this week which changed the approach.

Whether we think that is spin or not is for each of us to decide I guess

I think we'll still sign an experienced keeper.

Hopefully we still see the experienced no. 1 come in like we were all expecting. Would be highly disappointing to replace our no. 1 keeper with our no. 2 keeper.

Why would we go for another keeper when we've now got 3 (including goff who I know will go on loan)? Surely that's it in the goalkeeping position - Cornell will be number one and we'll have to hope that last seasons performances (except for the final day) are firmly behind him.

Exactly, there may still be movement elsewhere though according to KT and now JED.
