Although Grant is 29 isn't he? JE did say the other day about younger players..

That is the piece of hope that I'm clinging to - having said that it could just as easily refer to lobjoit, George smith and waters who are already in.

Agree with all of that. More likely to be Grant with us I guess!
Would rather have either of Exeters other attacking players, Watkins would be out of our range but thought Wheeler looked really useful too.

.............................Obviously if we were to get mcaleney it would be a massive statement of intent but I can't see how we would be able to give him a better deal than oxford or the championship clubs who are supposed to be after him.

Oxfords budget appears to have been reigned in, but Championship Clubs are another matter!

A hint from Jeremy Casey?

"We've got youngsters (Lobjoit, Waters, Iaciofano) as well as the oldies. Need somebody in between!"

McAleny is 24 and Grant is 29 so doesn't really narrow it down. I'll be astounded (and delighted) if it is McAnely; real intent shown by the manager and chairman if so.

I heard a whisper about Mark Bunn yesterday. Source not overly reliable mind but worth a bit of gossip if nothing else!

IF…and its a big IF…Bunny did rejoin, and we got a couple of decent centre halves..and Insiders prophesy is true…we could be set for a very good season.

Logically speaking, I guess it depends if Bunn (at 32) gets offered 1st team football at a championship club on a championship wage. Id be surprised if he went to another league1 club, barring probably the top 3 or 4 (budget wise). He's made a few quid on his travels, perhaps he actually wants to play football again before his career finishes! I live in hope!

he has spent most of his time not playing, and going where the most money is, why would that change now.

Can we stop going on about Mark Bunn. He wont be signing here. Why would he go from £10k plus a week to not even 25% of that.

Mark Bunn's disappointing career (in football if not personal financial terms) since leaving NTFC is exactly what Adam Smith needs to avoid doing.

£17500 a week according to this.

So basically he's a millionaire. What difference would it make to him signing for us (e.g. 4k a week which would be pushing the boat out but possibly justifiable in the context of our budget) or some small championship club on 7k a week? Financially Im on about.

May well come down to quality of life, being a regular first teamer again etc. Matt Taylor would have been on 10k plus a week at Burnley, Im guessing.

Plus we *might be able to offer something else, e.g. a coaching role. Yes, Im making it up as I go along now…but your looking at it too simplistically!

IMO we have absolutely no chance of signing Bunny.

I thought that Conor mcaleny was too good to be true - having said that there's nothing in that report on Joel grant  that contains anything new and it does put 2 and 2 together and makes 5. Still hoping we get more clues from insider.

Maybe Insider just guessed it was McAleny when it's actually Grant?

Lots of links to Grant but nothing about Aleny.
