I agree about Richards but can't say that I think Revell is good enough to start every week. He's just too inconsistent for my liking. I think Richards and Waters should start up front and then we'll have Iaciofano and Revell as backups as and when they are needed.

I think the respective records of Rico and Revell from last season are very similar in terms of goals per game. I think, given their age rotating the two of them through the season could work well. Either should be able to provide the platform for others to play and we should have legs around them.

As long as they're not on the pitch at the same time I'll be happy

Can't see us being the ones for Steele. I presume he will go back up to the Championship. Wouldn't mind being wrong on this one though!

I see that Michael Smith and Gary Roberts are set to leave Pompey...

Smith is too similar to Rico and Revs, but Roberts is a player with quality and can flip a game on its head... I know he's not a striker, but he is a forward player with quality.

Surely Lobjoit would benefit from being loaned out to a nationall league, or national league north or south club ?

Where did you see this mate? I've always liked Roberts but at 33 he might be a bit too old for my liking.

I'd swap Smith for Revell in a heartbeat...

Thought Smith was quality for us...not just about him scoring goals....hold up play & workrate were superb.

Absolutely spot on Smith is a younger version of Revs, it was no coincidence that when smith got injured last year we didn't win another game, sign him up.

As I pointed out on another thread, JJOT had an injection on Friday and has been told to rest for a few days (according to the club).

Is there a link to this anywhere? Thought the surgery would sort out his groin problem, hoping this is unrelated.

Tweet from the club today. They said a lot of people have been asking about JJOT and then gave the reason as I've outlined above.

He didn't feature in the training today though... so no reason to have a shirt printed, and hung up.
