no signing then in the end - hope its not slipped through the net

Go on then, what did you hear or expect yo happen today - if there's been no news or it's fallen through  then you're not betraying any confidences?

No names given, just told it would be done and annouced today.

Clearly it was either wrong info,  its fallen through or it's been delayed?

It's all about competition for places, and at the moment, Cornell hasn't got any (can't expect young Goff to give any proper competition yet)

Still find it very bizarre this keeper shenanigans is still ongoing, a week into the new season...

I'd deserve a chance to be no. 1 if I was the only senior keeper available  Grin Grin

It's getting beyond a joke now, let's just hope 'Dai' doesn't get injured or sent off, as we only have the rookie Goff for back up.

I'm sure if this happened then we would get the best keeper available in ASAP, at the minute we have a capable keeper (in my eyes anyway) until JE's target is available.

Yeah, and the season started last Saturday  Roll Eyes

We've had all pre-season to get this sorted out and still nothing...

Also, a new keeper needs to build up a solid understanding with his defence, this takes time...

Let's hope we have some points on the board by the end of August then eh?

So he should have abandoned his targets to get anyone in? I'm sure all the fans would've been happy with that.

I'd rather we wait and get the right one (as JE has already said). If we've missed out on targets then so be it, but no point in panic buying when we have three weeks left. The season won't be won or lost in August.

To be fair, it's probably to our advantage to have Goff as our only backup keeper. Isn't there an exclusion to the new loan rules that let's you bring a keeper in if the only one you have has less than x professional appearances to their name (where x is irrelevant to us because it's definitely more than zero)? If Cornell is going to be given his chance, why pay wages for someone else while you don't have to?

Cornell has done OK, possibly could have done better for the goal yesterday but did make a couple of good claims and had the good save in the first half.

After yesterday's match, I'm happy to admit, getting in another keeper is the least of our worries now...

Desperately need strengthening in our attacking areas...

Saying that, if JED persists in playing 532, he needs to drop Bucks and play a proper left wing back as it's getting predictably embarrassing...

So frustrating that we have a decent squad but not currently suitable for 532...everyone but JED can see this

In an interview on the back of today's football league paper that is rather embarrassingly after yesterday titled "Watch us go says Justin " JED reiterates that we're looking at a top half finish. He also states that he's not expecting us to do much more business which goes contrary to the hints from the chrons James henighan.

If your referring to his comment on twitter I wouldn't exactly say he was hinting at anything. He just says he wouldn't be surprised if he entered the transfer market for someone other than a keeper

So, that is three goalkeepers who have been rumoured at different points during the summer to be on our shopping list, who are currently third choice or below at their respective clubs.

Mark Bunn (Villa), Robert Green (Leeds) and Freddie Woodman (Newcastle). I can see all three leaving or going on loan before the end of August, but will one of them be coming here?
