From what I've seen over the years most lower league clubs will rarely announce the fee that they receive or pay for a player. Why this is I don't know, lots of people have different opinions. I don't think it's worth a lot of thought, we won't have received much for him. We probably just wanted to get him off our books to free up some wage capacity. If we released him then we would have had to pay up his contract so even a free transfer would possibly have been preferable for us.

my guess it was £1 so technically its a Transfer fee plus keeps the punters guessing its a win win around.

I didnt get to many games last season, but I quite liked the lad, and he is a decent enough league two player. He seems to perform better, in a winning team though, like most players I suppose, in which case, he could have joined the wrong club. The way Cov are going, they could end up doing a Stockport thing. Best of luck for the future concrete, but I do think that you have signed for the wrong team.

Whether he was good enough to cut it in League One for us, we'll never know, neither manager really gave him a run in the side this season. But he was good enough to be a standout player in a team that got 99 points in League Two. And for that reason alone, I'd be delighted with this if I were a Cov fan. Good luck Concrete Rod, hope they take to you like we did.

An average player playing under a quality manager last season. Not been convinced by him when he's been on the pitch this season. A good move for both Rod and the club, hope he does well

Christ, when did Rod turn into the world's greatest centre back.
He's alright, I'd have kept him. He's definitely not as good as everyone is making out though.
Come on. Name me one better centre back in our squad?

Well, we'll have to agree to disagree there. Page's judgement was awful (as proven by the stats) and Edinburgh's doesn't seem to be much better so far.
I do agree with your post, As far as JED. The jury is still out in my book.

It is strange that many of those calling for wholesale changes are amongst the first to make critical comments as soon as a particular player departs. It was clear many months ago that McDonald did not feature in JED's plans so his exit was inevitable.
One thing is certain is that next season's squad will be players chosen rather than inherited by JED. We can only hope he gets it right.

You should put some money on that if you are so sure.

Scally hopes that recruitment at Gillingham will be MUCH better than in the last couple of seasons! Now who could that have been?
