Whatever record he has, give him a chance to play and show his worth on the pitch, its a new start with a new club, so before we throw him under the bus based on opinions of former fans, let him get some performances under his belt. Welcome Leon.

You take notice of a sh+t Bury team BUT ignore his 3 promotions to the Premiership! ...................why?
Assuming because ones a lot more recent and relevant than the other?

He might be great, he might be sh1t. 'One of those'. A bit like every player we sign In all seriousness, he's got decent pedigree, downside is that 'he's on the way down'. But with our wage budget, if we only signed players that 'were on the way up' we'd be certain for relegation/bankrupcy! Its all about balance. Hoping he's a good 'un!

I would have thought that's pretty obvious but his last club was Bury , who released him . His promotions were in his younger years some time ago . Are you one of these people that wants us to sign "name" ex premier players as their legs go ? Hopefully Leon will do well for us and improve upon last season .

I see your point, but i am looking at it like this: We have signed a player the same age as zakuani, with similar game experience (100's of games) as zakuani, some of it at higher levels than zakuani, probably for the same wage as zakuani... but without the international commitments. Seems like reasonably good business to me.

Are we sure he's a centre back? The football expert Caroline Dense has him down as a utility player

Are we sure he's a centre back? The football expert Caroline Dense has him down as a utility player Has played several positions earlier in his career. Right & left back, midfield and even striker. He clearly said in his interview though that he is a centre back and that is where he will be playing...according to him.

i agree, apart from the fact i would think he is on a fair bit more than zak.

Any particular reason why you think this? i understand he will have been on high wages at previous points in his career. But he was at bury, in the same league as us. I have no inside knowledge at at all, but i assumed that Zak, Revell and Taylor, who were all Page 1st team 'marquee' signings last year, would all be in our 'category A' wage bracket. Again i have no inside knowledge, but the club must work to some kind wage 'bandings' i would think.

no inside knowledge, just common sense on where he has come from over the last 2/3 years compared to Zak.

Go on Rebel challenge him on that statement I don't know anything for certain, but for me, both Zak and Leon came from fellow league one clubs, neither of which are known to have particularly large budgets for this division. We dont know what proportion of those budgets each player was taking up though, so its possible that Leon is on a higher wage than Zak was. We are all just speculating at this point...

Always pleased with a signing when you quickly browse the former clubs forum to read a mostly positive description of him. His experience will be very useful if we are indeed looking at this young Manchester United player on a seasons loan.

Usual, predictable over reaction! Who's 'throwing him under the bus' exactly???

I admit to be a bit underwhelmed. The majority seem happy on here so its best to wait and see.

I don't think that there was a hint of over-reaction in my post, I'm simply saying that before people judge him based on former supporters views, give him a chance to play for his new team. He could be a brilliant signing, with his levels of experience, or he could be a pile of s***e, no one knows until he plays. Reading any of my previous posts on other topics (of which there are not that many) I usually have a balanced opinion.

I've never heard that expression before but I'm going to use it on a daily basis from now on.
