3 year deal, centre half from Aberdeen. Played 100 games in the Prem for Aberdeen over the last three seasons, and he's only 26 and 6ft 5. Very happy with this signing.

Aberdeen fans are a little less than complimentary on their forum, but they are talking from the perspective of a team who finished second in the SPL. The guy played 43 times in a side which only conceded 35 goals last season so he clearly knows what a successful defence looks like.
It will be interesting to see who he ends up being partnered with.

As ever some of our supporters rush to judgment before the player has kicked a ball for us. Aberdeen are a good side with a good manager and the Scot Prem is superior to L1. So, Taylor comes with a lot of games under his belt played at a higher level so on paper this must be a good signing but we will see soon enough.

Cracking signing. Welcome Ash. If these last two signings are anything to go by what are the signings we are waiting on like? JE has said they will be well worth the wait, if they are better than the last two then we are going to have one very strong squad. Only about a month till kick off, I can't wait.

Nothing recent though, last post was September 2016!! Another excellent signing, at this rate we'll all start getting very excited. Welcome Ash and may your 3 year stay be successful.

Christ, and we think that the hotel end gets negative and hostile sometimes - those Scots might not be great at playing football but they're very good at moaning about it.

For balance, if you look through that forum you'll see Zander Diamond's name repeatedly coming up in a 'worst ever XI' thread and someone on their transfer ins and outs thread saying Taylor and Diamond in defence together would 'be hilarious'. If Taylor and Diamond are of a similar standard then I'm more than happy with this.

Always makes me laugh when people say how good a singing it is when they've never seen him play a single game of football I don't get it.

Always makes me laugh when people say how good a singing it is when they've never seen him play a single game of football I don't get it. Glass half full or empty? One or two saying here how nad this signing is. Do you know what? Nobody Knows, they don't know who the signings are and they don't even know when the signings are taking place. The last two weren't even mentioned and not one post saying expect a signing today, indeed planty on twitter "in the know" saying no signings today including Jeremy Casey from the Chron. For what it's worth though got a couple of decent players in imho. Time will tell of course.

I've just read through the Aberdeen forum posted above and what stands out is a number of people saying that he's better than Zander Diamond. That gives me hope.

So, rushing to make judgements like " Great signing" "Pleased with this signing" is absolutely fine then? Still a judgemental inference being made. However, any sign of dissent (based on this occasion from Aberdeen fans' experience) is unacceptable!

Yes. but the point is (as I've kinda alluded to) is that people know jack all about a player and jump in with 'terrific signing...blah blah' yet, offering any reservations that don't conform to the happy clappy mantra...and the woodern thing that the mouthy beardy one from Nazareth was put on comes out!

Ok ,but reverse that. Look in the mirror. You have been derivative re the last 2 signings. That is just as judgemental.
Each and every one is entitled to their opinion but that's all it is. An opinion. Let's wait and see how it turns out.

I'll reserve judgement on this until I've seen him play, to be fair only about 1 in 20 fans on their board seem to think he's any good!
