Disagree with your first point. From a standing start the boycott was highly effective leaving the majority of stadia virtually empty. @againstleague3 on Twitter deserves a lot of credit for doing a lot of the leg work. I'd agree that boycotting the matches with B-Teams in this time around might be a better option. Against League 3 are surveying fans on what should be done this time. I know they'd appreciate Cobblers fans filling it in. You can find the survey via www.twitter.com/againstleague3Fair point, the stadia were empty. But this competition never got big crowds anyway. Also, as the competition went on, people started attending the later rounds. The empty stadia in the early rounds resulted in lost revenue for the clubs. this is the bit i am most uneasy with. Some people only boycotted the b team games, some people claimed to be boycotting all the games but never attended in previous years anyway, some people boycotted all the games having been to them in previous years, and some people did not let the presence of B teams affect their decision to go to games. I saw all kinds of proposals for protesting this competition, including - buying a ticket, travelling to the ground, entering the stadium and then walking out after 10 minutes. Who in their right mind is going to do this? As i said in my previous post - I think the solution is simple, if we dont want b teams, dont go to those games, and if the final includes a B team them the boycott should still be followed. But lets not rob our own club of revenue against legitimate teams.

The way we are going with player recruitment such tournaments will be very useful to ensure the great benchwarmers and/or the forgotten are involved. Decided now to support this useful competition.

Did they announce when they will allocate the U21 team to each group? I'm hoping for Spurs.

They have relaxed the selection criteria this year for the league clubs too. This should help i think. Like you say, gives us a chance to test some youngsters/out of favour players in a 'competitive' game.

i think they still have to though?! maybe they just voted against it, as the (vocal) fans wanted, but they knew they wouldn't win that vote, so it didn't matter.

Leicester City would have been the obvious local choice surely ? Why bother with a draw.

One of the plumbers on my site, whose from Leeds and supports his local club, asked me who our main rivals are. I asked him to guess, expecting him not to go with Boro, but MK, Coventry, Oxford, maybe even Leicester. No, he thought about it, and his eyes lit up when he came up with Southampton. Because, "Now then petal, Its north versus south, I tell thee". Prior to that, he seemed OK.

fcuk em their obviously as thick as s***e to support this competition, but if they wanna bring 1500,2k+ with them then sell them to them. More cash for us but just another unnecessary fixture and injury risk for players

Having lived up North. They are very consious about the north/south divide rivalry. I don't think its ever mentioned first down here.

The draw was rigged so that Southampton and Pompey couldn't meet. What a joke.

I was contemplating going when the 3 league teams were drawn. Probably because I feel starved of Cobblers. Then Southampton was announced and it woke me up. Boycott again.
