It was a preseason friendly while Ranieri was in charge, wasn't it?

Derek Asamoah first game at Sixfields on trial. (I think)

I think someone should just take this city of Peterborough and just... just flush it down the f***in' toilet

Scholes and Defoe very impressive.

I remember Brett Ormerod putting in a great performance when Blackpool beat us 3-1 at Sixfields in 2001. I think he got his move to Southampton not long after and impressed whenever I've seen him

John O'kane the fullback. He played a blinder that night and I wasn't surprised to find out he'd played top flight football for a short while. Dunno how he ended up with Blackpool? Grin

I remember Frank Worthington playing against us for Tranmere I think.

I remember seeing him too though I can't say which club he was with as he played for so many. Great player. Not the best all round player to play at the Cobblers but I've never seen a player with better ball control than Frank Worthington.

If we are talking their whole careers, Ronaldo without a shadow of a doubt. The guy has won multiple world player of the year titles and is one of the greatest players in world footballing history. George Best is also in that category and performed better against us.

Best player seen at the County Ground.....

Ian Botham, never seen any other footballer including George Best hit sixes all over the place like that Scunthorpe legend.

Two sports I win.

Talking of George Best, Kim Book was in the stands at Frome last night with his two sons. A very pleasant chap.

Slightly off topic - but the best *game* a player had against us - Glenn Cockerill at the county ground.  In my eyes, he ran the entire game - opened our admittely poor defence each time he had the ball ; shame the rest of his team were from memory useless - around 93 I think.

Gabbiadini for Darlo (what happened to Darlo?) as mentioned earlier in the thread.
I would also expand even more.
What are the best and worst performanes by exCobblers against us?
Wasn't there but Ricky had a bit of a stinker for Charlton last season didn't he?
Racking my brains for the other... Paul Culpin scored against us for Sh@tboro

Don't remember his overall performance but Petr Mikolanda's disallowed goal for Rushden at Sixfields was hillarious; rumour is he's still celebrating it.

A bloke I used to work with supported Darlington. Another club who thought they had found a pot of gold with George Reynolds, turned out he was a crook like so many ex-chairmen. Darlo went bust, had to reform under another name and started again at the bottom of the football pyramid.
