Probably about 16th under a different manager.
What does that mean?

Well, I think he means that if we get a different manager then we could end up 16th. What do you reckon he means?

Not really. I imagine he doesn't rate Edinburgh as a manager and thinks that if somebody else came in they could salvage the season and we'd hopefully finish about 16th. Honestly, working out what people mean from the words they write doesn't really take that much effort you know.

Agreed , that's what he may have meant, just trying to understand his rationale behind it. It's also a bit ambiguous.

For what it's worth, I read it as we'll finish 16th and will have a different manager come the end of the season, rather than we could finish 16th if we get a new manager. Got an idea though, why don't we let Saint Cobbler answer!?

Wouldn't bother quick look at his past posts would appear he was voicing his displeasure at JED back in May '17. I agree JED is not a CW but some of his signings have been ok so on that basis quite prepared to go along with him.

Play offs at best. Too many big clubs with bigger budgets. Would be really surprised if we have relegation problems.

Not sure who the biggest bookies are these days but the latest odds from Bet365 has us 12th equal on the betting for promotion, the recent spend hasn't really effected the odds much.
1.Blackburn...6/4 2.Wigan........5/2 3.Portsmouth.3/1 4.Donkeys.....7/2 5.Bradford.....4/1 6.Charlton.....5/1 7.Oxford.......11/2 8.Sc***horpe.6/1 8.Bury...........6/1 8.Rotherham..6/1 11. B.Rovers..13/2 12.Cobblers.....7/1 12.Posh...........7/1 12.Southend....7/1

This is exactly what I meant. I assume it's ok to state that I think we could finish about 16th and that I think there is a good chance we will replace our manager sometime this season. My comments in the past relating to JED are based only on what I see of/hear from him, and see of his team's performances and systems. We have a few good players now because we've had an influx of cash. That's why I think we won't go down.

Anything above where we finished last year counts as progress doesn't it ? No relegation battle, flirt with the playoffs for a bit, and start to build a good squad and push on the next season.
That being said if it all clicks we could surprise a few.

Beat Boro home and away and I don't really care where we finish.

I think with the additions we should be a solid mid table team, which is progress. Then next year push on again and hopefully challenge for a play off spot.

Would much rather a higher finish than a couple of wins in a poor excuse for a derby.
