I think a little dissapointed would sum up the Bowen family thoughts from what i here.
Why could the club have not called it the Dave Bowen Stand sponsored by Sheinman Opticians.
Was this suggested to Sheinmans and they objected.If so does not reflect well on them.
If they have not been asked, is it still to late.
After all in a year or two when Specsavers offer more money to the club, Sheinmans will be forgotten but to club supporters Dave Bowen will not.

The club ballsed it up years ago by initially calling it the North stand. That name then got in to the fans consciousness and nobody really called it the Dave Bowen Stand. They should have called it that from the start. It's like if you get the first naming rights to a stadium. I know stokes ground as the Britannia. No idea what they call it now

Council who ballsed it up wasn't it? North South East West - must have took them years to come up with those four. Dave Bowen Stand never really rolled off the tongue any way. Bowen Stand using just the surname would have been better. |

Agree with this. I've always called it the North Stand (yes I am too young to remember Dave Bowen but know the history of my club) and clubs need to generate income now through a number of ways. Personally I have no issue with renaming any of the stands or even the ground but it would be good to commemorate the greats of this club in other ways. Carrs bar for example and I know there is talk of naming the fans village after Brian Lomax. The challenge now though is everything seems to be sponsored at football grounds, Sheff Utd was beyond parody with every announcement having a different sponsors name read out |

Well he sold the club to some Chinamen without consulting anyone so I'd say all the "rights".
Kelvin and his friends owned NTFC, the council own Sixfields, unless Cardoza and Grossman managed to get their hands on it  |

However old any of us are, lets be honest and less sentimental...it was (and always will be) the North Stand! 'Bowen, Sheinman stand...give us a song' Nah! |
