Whatever the system, it's been a fair while since NTFC scored a goal. Anybody know how many minutes it is now ?
They scored two against Newport County, that was two games ago. So 180 minutes plus whatever time was left in that game after we scored. Edit: If you mean competitive games, it was Shrewsbury last season. About four games or so ago.

We haven't got the players for the new system . The full backs are not really suitable and the centre halves are not ball players . Also , the opposition run from deep and we don't pick them up . We will concede playing this way

Sheer rubbish - Phillips good and Smith looks promising- Kasim also good. Cornell did ok too. Taylor outstanding and can pass.

Smith is the only natural wing back we have . If we play this system , he has to play . It leaves big gaps when one of the two holding players gets caught and opposition midfielders stroll through . We will see

We actually looked pretty good last night even after we went down to 10 men. Smith looked good for his Cameo appearance and will put Buchanan under pressure. Richards and Revell really look past it though and I think our problem will be scoring anough goals as neither of them are sufficiently mobile

pretty much agree with this.............thought we looked okay last night, certainly more mobility in the team. but as mentioned above, our problem is going to be scoring goals.

Leave out Richards and Revell. Play Long and one other. Really can't understand why Richards was given another contract.

Richards scored a few goals (double figures I think), decent link up play, a leader in the dressing room, seasoned pro for youngsters to learn from and moments against Shef Utd at home shows he is still has some class. I thought he deserved another year but saw him as a support/sub and not our main goal threat. He also seemed to be injury free for most of last season.

Just because Richards had some good games last season, doesn't mean as he gets older he will be any good this season. It was a bad decision to give him a new contract, as it was a bad decision to give Revell a two year contract. Two very similar players, who are past their best, could carry one in the squad, but two, no. Put together with M.Taylor who is a squad player at best you are struggling to get the team to function. Leave Revell, Richards and M.Taylor out of the starting line ups and we stand a chance. Team played well last night, would have been even better without Richards and Revell.

I do wonder if failing to get the front man in Edingburgh was hinting at preseason will come back to haunt him with a lack of goals.
Early days though.

He has signed a lot of players, but the two he has missed out on, an experienced goalkeeper and a goalscorer, could hit us hard.

Has he actually missed out on either?

Cornell doing ok - becoming more reliable than Smith with his recent performances. As for Revell and Richards generally agree with the comments. Revell more effective than Richards last night but as you hint we are lacking a mobile goal scorer to partner Long. Its good to almost agree with you for a change!

Long was a last minute option but Edinburgh was clear he was bringing in a forward and made him sound as though we would be delighted with him. Unless of course he still brings him in.

Agree with that Evers, Cornell might make the grade and not need a new Keeper. But would have been nice to have Long plus one other rather that Revell and Richards.
