That makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.  Grin

JE loves the diamond, so I'm thinking that we will see that again if we go five at the back. Happy to be proved wrong.

What the General forgot to mention that Pages suicidal selection was based on players available to him at the time. Whilst Rauldinho selection is largely composed with better players.

Biggest test so far in the pre-season runouts. Lose 1-3 or 0-3 Would be expected. Any smaller lose than that or draw or a win would be good. Any bigger defeat and could be a long season.

I thought preseason results were pretty irrelevant, I certainly wouldn't get excited by any loss or draw with Derby, I don't think the Kettering & Rushden results necessarily mean mean both those clubs will have great seasons.

Never really count the games against non league teams. But league you expect a reasonable show. Getting a thrashing is not healthy.
Remember JE doesn't have a high win ratio for us any way.

Admit I am a little concerned, whilst this only a friendly and wont affect our league position, I am worried that Derby could destroy us! and the pressure will continue to grow on JED

Loving the usual positivity on here.  Roll Eyes

Trust you'll all be getting behind JE and the team once they step out onto the pitch.

Get a grip on what you are saying.... This is going to be a tough league and just because we now have a realistic budget to compete this doesn't make us Champions before will have kicked a ball.

Lower your expectations my friend.

Continue to grow  Huh? Huh? Huh?

We're currently unbeaten in the league and still in every cup competition.

Not good enough given our current budget. Anything less than top 10 at this stage has to be seen as a dismal failure by JED.

At no point in that comment did I suggest JED should be sacked but anyone who thinks that there is not additional pressure on JED due to extra investment is kidding themselves and whilst we are currently unbeaten in the league, a lot of fans will see the results against Kettering and Rushden and start panicking, a heavy defeat tonight will not exactly demonstrate that JED is making progress and building a team that is going to compete in the top half of league one!

No, with our budget supplemented by the additional funding from 5usport, at the very least we should be comfortably top 10. Comfortably. The fact we've already fallen below that standard is a disgrace. We really should be looking to start in the play off positions and stay there.

Not a great deal of difference in a comfy Top ten and an aspiring 12th. Would be happy with either at this stage of the season!
