Are the new owners going to be there?
If so I might turn up.
If not it's pretty pointless as nothing can be done without their say so.
I'd find it a bit odd if having taken control of the club and having pumped money in not one person from 5usport was present.

If that is the case I'd imagine it'll be a case of KT telling us what we want to hear or not being able to comment on individual aspects as he is now to coin a phrase the monkey and not the organ grinder !!

If so it makes it all a little pointless.
Nice gesture to have a forum but frankly without the money men in attendance to answer it is just a gesture.

Can someone please ask the following

1. When can we expect to see something actually happening to East stand, either in revised planning permission application or start building?
2. What are the dimensions and location of the disputed piece of land behind East stand that has caused the delays?
3. Why did you not pay back the £10,000 loan to the Trust as per gentleman's agreement?
4. Are there still plans to build hotels / conference centre etc? If so how and why will NTFC benefit?  Will they become your assets or NTFC's to be transferred to new owners in the future as part of NTFC?

I've just seen that Random has posted his questions on here, so will post the questions I've already asked the Trust to put forward - which are not all that different from Random's own queries.

1. What is the current situation regarding the disputed piece of land behind the East stand? And how large is the area in dispute, ie large enough to affect any re-imagined plans for that side of the ground?
2. If there are still plans to build a hotel and conference centre, who will actually own (and gain) from this venture? NTFC, 5USport, other parties?
3. We are constantly being told the 5USport involvement is a partnership, as opposed to a takeover, but who actually has final say on (disputes) decisions involving NTFC? I don't think this is an unreasonable question, at all.

All credit to Kelvin for keeping calm when being harangued by that woman who was insisting she was entitled to know how much money was being spent on the grounds that she's "a paying customer".  I'm not sure I'd have been so tolerant.

Yeah agreed, I thought it was a little bit ridiculous and didn't really understand her point at all. I thought KT had already explained why it's usually undisclosed and explained it well.

Did make me chuckle.  Grin

Good work from the Trust getting this organised, and I think KT and JE acquitted themselves well in answering what they could.

An enjoyable evening, KT and JED always come over really well at these forums - I can't say that I really learned any more about the chinese "partnership" (other than KT reiterating the education aspect of the link over and over which is still a bit confusing to me to be honest) and it was basically as you were with the east stand. The impression I get when I listen to KT is that he is very social media savvy - some of the things he mentioned could only have one from sites such as this - I wonder if he ever reads the boards.

I wonder if our Chinese owners speak English?

KT confirmed tonight that one of then doesn't speak very good English and isn't confident in his English. No idea how or why that even came up to be fair.

And well done to Derry Felton (I think that's his name) for pissing on her bonfire with the question to JED about the Checkatrade Trophy. That shut her up!

BCB wasn't there as far as I know!

After the introduction by Fez,  KT was quickly onto 5uSport. He stressed it was an educational partnership who viewed the association as a long term opportunity for them. On the playing side NTFC have to do well to promote interest in China.
KT was particularly annoyed by the DM article which was regarded as a negative report completely omitting the Educational aspect of the deal.  5uSport (5uS) were particularly interested in developing the grass roots support in China and were keen to develop ties with Npton Uni. Their main Guy was "Tom" who had little or no knowledge of English. He is due to visit UK and take in the QPR game. There was no appraisal on financial matters.

Regarding the East Stand KT thought that work will commence in the near future perhaps in the Autumn. The Stand will not be the ideal affair once touted in the first plans but would be a reasonable compromise. Lots of "hopefuls" in KT's reference to the East Stand! Not commercial at all to start over but would be decent when finished.
Thought that capacity was ok at the moment but agreed the away stand might be developed! But did we want large away attendances at Sfields quoting SU who would have brought 10k support so out numbering our own! He thought that attendances would increase as the team moved up the table or jumped another league. He asked the audience did we want a 15000 capacity stadium as he didnt think so and most of us agreed with him. Bad luck Beds - no luck there.
Safe standing not important to us but was catching on in the UK - would address as and when necessary. Catering issue had been resolved with the Company involved still in partnership. Changing room facilities improved with benches gone and replaced by cubicles. Carrs Bar refurbished.
Fair amount of discussion on the squad and JE was confident it was a good one. No more outfield players but hoping to sign one of two goalies shortly. The Huddersfield goalie was described as a trial only and had he had League experience would have been signed. JE impressed by the goalie.
Questions on the East Stand : work would commence after the one remaining legal issue had been resolved. Apparently we have two sets of leases on one piece of land to overcome. Plenty of funds available only the legalities holding the Redev back. Apparently the Holding Company had 80% of the shares in NTFC.
JE very relaxed about the new system - it was very flexible and could change to 4-4-2 in a flash. Players knew this and were comfortable in the system/formation and had trained to adopt to other systems if circumstances demanded.
JE mindful of fringe players and club had already planned mid week games to cover this eventuality. He look forward to the lesser competitions as this provided games for players. KT said he managed to pick 3 different teams and thought that JE had a job on his hands in man management. Moulton ok. One lady persisted in a series of queries why the club with held info on transfer fees - KT countered this by suggesting it was a 'curiosity'  question and not meaningful one for her or the club.

In a nutshell I found it about 10% info 90% flannel.
JE went up in my estimation and KT went down.
Could elaborate on the above but it would be pretty pointless as my opinion like the rest on here actually counts for nowt.
Managed to drag out half hours worth of interest into two hours but well done for putting it on live as it was worth watching for comedic value!!
Anything important was brilliantly skirted around(usually anything to do with finances)
Where has the money actually come from??
How have 5usport acquired their finance?
I found KT very short sighted in his ambitions for the club going forward and actually thought he came across as quite condescending at times.
If he can't work out why a bigger capacity would be useful sooner rather than later and can't quite grasp the impact that clubs announcing fees rather than keeping them undisclosed may have then maybe he should have a good old think prior to his next forum appearance.
Good fun to watch and hopefully we can have another episode soon.

Must Agree with Shoey  here. JE puts his points very well and I now think a bit more highly of him.
KT  I'm not so impressed with. Basically saying we are a small Club in a small Stadium and that's the way it's staying. He doesnt think it's a good idea to have bigger away followings as the home fans won't like it, so can't really see any Stadium Expansion happening soon.

That's not what he said at all. He was being pragmatic; it's not needed yet so we aren't doing it yet. I think the key word there is "yet".

I was pretty impressed with him the season before last. Again and again people need to realise that we wouldn't havevbeen palying AFC Rushden and Kettering in meaningless games, it would have been in league games.
Secondly on the woman asking about transfer fees paid. How on earth would she have used the information had she got it? Tittle tattle it on one of the travel buses or in the stand when Crooks had an off day?
