Who should be the dead ball specialist at the club ?
Kasim quite clearly is not up to standard and sadly we are not playing American Football in which the veteran Taylor can be wheeled on to make a contribution for a matter of seconds .
Who then is the man ?

If it's in and around the box, it's normally a direct attempt at goal, so Rico if he's playing.
If he's not then I haven't got a Scooby.

Rico for free-kicks. I'm not sure for corners- Crooks ought to be given a go although then we lose his aerial presence in the box. I wonder if Buchanan's corner taking is up to scratch?

Kasim's set piece delivery against Fleetwood was pretty dire.

Obviously Taylor will take them if he is on the pitch, and Rico is an option for a shot on goal.

I seem to remember Powell taking some for MK Dons, and I'm sure that Crooks could do a decent job.

The problem is that we relied on Taylor's best-in-the-division set piece delivery for a good proportion of our goals last year.

I still think that Kasim and co are better options, but those goals have to be replaced somehow i.e. from actually creating chances from open play.

Its an interesting topic, as this may be our only route towards scoring, unless Jed gets his head out of the sand.
Its not one that I am sure I know the answer to though. Plenty of players can be great with the ball at their feet, but are unable to deliver when the ball is stationary. For example, Micheal Jacobs corner kicks were woeful. He very rarely got past the first man at the near post.
Like a lot of other things, about this team and formation, I am left scratching my head.

Didn't Jacobs score from a corner kick?

Has no one considered JJ O'T for free kick duties? I have a hunch he may be quite good.

I would prefer to see him on the end of it. I have a hunch he may be quite good at that.

I'd bet that JED has, as Page would have and Wilder before him.

Maybe he'll be in them when he's back in the side!

Kasim's set pieces were awful on Saturday - just wasteful. We must be able to do better than that. Hope he just had an off day - but doubt it.
