I'm sure someone like Giggs and Lampard will listen to what the former Nuneaton, Northampton, Blackpool and Maidstone manager who hasn't managed a team since about 1992 would have to say.

If his role is an alternative name for Director of Football we might as well pack up and go home.

Well many toon fans felt GC had an enormous amount of power over several of the big name managers over the years - I've no idea why he has been bought in but I would caution at underestimating his potential influence - but the reality is we are going absolutely nowhere with JED so however it manifests itself change (good or bad) is in the air

If any of you actually want him to become manager then you want your heads looking at. Last time he was in a dugout was over 20yrs ago! An honorary title in recognition of what he did 30 years ago is fine

Honorary title? He's already got a bar named after him, it doesn't get anymore honorary than that does it?!

Talk of Carr returning to management is complete rubbish. He has made a lot of money from the beautiful game and at 72 he has better things to do.  What he does have, I'm sure, is a great number of contacts in the game which can only be good for our club.  He has earned his soft seat in the West Stand.

What tosh
I've read the statement and it's a load of flannel that explains nothing.
What is an associate director?
Long winded statement,no explanation.

In short he's been bought in as a director of football to oversee things and basically ease JED out the door.
Rather than state the obvious it's been described as an associate director even though nobody knows what that means.

Is it possible for KT to put out a non flannel statement anytime in the future. Grin

Facts
JED is out of his depth(as I feared the day he was appointed) and is a dead man walking
GC has been bought in to sort out the shambles and in his words.....
He is happy to help Justin and Andy as much as he can.....
This is obviously a director of football role but rather than upset the apple cart we will call it something that sounds something important but different i.e.) associate director Roll Eyes Grin
Doesn't matter how it's dressed up the fact is
Justin is on the way out and GC will take over short term(possibly longer) but my hunch is an unproven big name will be unveiled i.e.) giggs, lampard with the experienced GC to show him the way.

Sounds good to me Grin
Welcome back GC.
Absolute rubbish of the first order ....
Graham Carr will be nowhere near a managerial role .
He has been invited in for his vast knowledge and contacts in the game

I doubt very much that Carr will have any input into the football club at all.
This is done soley to reward Carr for that Season. Plus it keeps KT in the good books after two bad management appointments.

He'll be a resource to tap into for KT, Melville in the main, Carr's expertise these days is on the scouting side anyway.

I'd be surprised if he were making any decisions. A lot of people seem to think he's been appointed to run the football side of things, if that was the case why wouldn't they give him an appropriate title. Something like, I dunno, 'Director of Football'??

I think Rafa needs players more than we do?
Coincidence how their recruitment has dried up since Graham left?

Welcome back Graham (if you read this)
