Winning 5-4 on pens against Cambridge reserves, with a decent strength team.
Can't wait to hear JE on this one.....

Edinburgh has just run, no galloped across the pitch to celebrate with the hoards of fans who have flooded onto the playing surface to celebrate this most momentous of victories.
Coddington is being carried aloft, water being sprayed everywhere, the stewards are struggling to keep order as the literally tens of Cambridge fans trudge for the exits.
Ron Atkinson, John Beck, Dion Dublin, your boys took one hell of a beating tonight.....

I'm at a total loss as to why we are so $hite. Even allowing for the ineptitude of the manager, you'd expect that line up to comfortably beat a L2 reserve team.
Devoid of ideas and confidence. Must be totally toxic in that changing room right now.

5 well taken pens and a much needed win, of sorts. I think JE was here to watch it. It's already feeling like a long season.

I think a lot of the players aren't as good as some people believe.

Probably true but it is undeniable that they are better than those we had last season

I would tend to agree - however they can certainly do better than current form with even a modicum of proper direction.

It must be a far happier place living in Tim Oglethorpe's Cobblers world.... Sammo saying how much work was left to do, with Tim bemoaning Justin's bad luck so far this season. Always entertaining on the drive home.

I was entertained by the surprise he displayed when Matt Taylor was dropped. I'd like to say he plays devil's advocate but that may be a compliment. Still, I think he's engaging enough and provides some sort of entertainment.

Anyone at the game give us a run down of exactly how poor a performance this was?
Hoping McWilliams did well after his good performance on Saturday.

Sammo was very good on the radio tonight - very honest in his assessment . He couldn't understand why substitutions weren't made a lot earlier and why JED didn't show a bit of passion from the side . He's a good guy Sammo and it's a pity he's not involved any more

4-4-2 was a slight improvement, however.... I don't recall Coddington playing the ball out once. Far too many long balls from defence and the midfield was anonymous. Thought Rev's did OK and got his goal. They looked far livelier and had the best chance of the second half. We are clearly devoid of any real ideas and confidence, including JE who was hibernating. No pattern or real style of play in evidence. It was just a depressing reminder of how far we've got to go to stay up this season.
