I really don't understand why anyone would now. We're the Cobblers. Who were you expecting? This is us probably punching above our weight.
Good luck Jimmy. Onwards....

Of course no one knows the outcome here but for me a good appointment- I like the guy's philosophy, that of a real player with imagination - not those schooled into the coaching qualification of boredom. Again I don't know and he certainly finished as a player before the ridiculous amount of money players are being paid but he will have surely still earned a tidy sum suggesting he want rather than needs to be in management.
Finally a big pat on the back to KT for taking action when required, making a good choice and undoubtedly dipping into those coffers some on here ungraciously suggest are there solely for his benefit.
Best of luck JFH and for the first time in over a year I'm actually looking forward to my 1000 plus mile return trip to see a game.

An appointment that we probably couldn't have made without the Chinese investment, a worldwide name in football which will re-ignite interest in the club and no doubt add a few extra to the gate. It should give the players a huge boost and he'll hopefully be someone they really will want to play for and start to show their talent. I just hope him and his eventual assistant can get the shape right and are adaptable.

It's also a name that this generation of players will know and respect. And to think some wanted Graham Carr to give it another whirl

Realistically the best appointment we could have hoped for.
Interesting that he actually started at 'Royal Antwerp in 2013, leading them to seventh place in the second tier' - he's got a lot of experience but will still have the hunger and ambition to progress.
From what I've gathered his style is a bit more defensive than one might expect from a former Dutch international striker, but that's no bad thing.
I just hope he gets us playing in a simple, dynamic formation which makes the most of what I think is a decent - and quite expensively assembled - squad. He's got the kind of gravitas which should lift the players and hopefully lead to something of a 'new manager bounce'.

If he's rejected Poxford and come here, just like Wilder, the man's a Cobblers legend before a ball's been kicked in my eyes Pretty sure I saw him play at Sixfields. For Chelski I presume. Am I right?

To be fair, who he actually is shouldn't be ignored in terms of the impact it could and should have on the players.

Scored a few goals from Boavista through to Middlesborough didn't he. Welcome Jimmy, more of the same from your chosen strikers please.

The Daily Star reckon JFH was offered £10k/week + bonuses to be OUFC boss but he turned them down. Wonder how muchhe's on here? can't be anywhere near that figure surely.

Absolutely. Let's not kid ourselves, this is a massive result for 5USport and for growing their brand. Hopefully it will prove to be a big step in the right direction for NTFC, too. JFH always comes over as a decent and intelligent bloke, and, perhaps just as importantly in the eyes of the players, he is a winner. He is still young in managerial terms, but the QPR blip could work in our favor. He is obviously an ambitious fella, so perhaps with the right financial backing and support staff, we can all progress together. Good luck, Jimmy! PS: This'll be the first time I've looked forward to visiting Sixfields for quite some time.

How surprising that KT has failed to appoint most people's first choice. You really must try harder KT to please all the prissy fcukers on here. He's a bloody good choice. And just to make it even better... He's an ex mighty blue. So b0llocks to anyone that doesn't approve. As for not being te fans first chice, Remember Gary Johnson was a fans favorite and look what took place with him!!

Anybody know who JFH has had as his assistants at Burton and QPR?
I "think" David Oldfield who is now doing something at Boro.

I always felt that, Tony Yeboah, was more your man for Leeds Bangers. Heres a JFH howitzer for Middlesborough though.

Assistant manager at the scum. Shame, I think he would have proven useful.

He already has some great contacts in the Far East I would imagine that he'll be embarrassing some of the current crop with his shooting ability during training. Good luck Cobbler Jim.
